The women’s clothing game requires a lot of balancing and planning. Here at DAUB, we have 3-4 seasons simultaneously going on behind the scenes while you shop our current collection. From selecting new fabrics to bring into the line to picking colour swatches for our custom seasonal colours, to in depth sales analysis to production estimates, marker requests and more. That’s just the production side - no marketing or design included. As a woman owned brand, we’re always looking for ways to make better products that you’ll love day in and day out.

All I can say is that it’s never a dull day around here.

Those days that call for comfort are best in the Ainsley Tee. Simple, easy and pulled together.

This three quarter length sleeve top is loose around the waist, with a gorgeous drape. The box pleat in the back gives a small yet important detail, giving the shirt movement around the body as you go about your day. This piece will be your go-to on on the days that deserve a little softness.

How are you taking care of yourself this weekend? In our newsletter this morning, I mulled over the importance of having supportive female relationships in our lives - especially as we grow older. Having these and expressing gratitude for them can uplevel our happiness just by implying recognizing them.

Small acts of self care you can do today:

- Get outside. Breathe in fresh air, be by some body of water if possible but more than anything, just ground yourself to some nature.

- Move your body. Whether it’s an epic hike, a great workout or a gentle walk, this helps us elevate our moods for hours after!

- Have lunch with those gfs we mentioned above. Catch up, support each other, laugh and listen.

- Go to a farmer’s market or local artisan event. Restock your fridge for the week with goodness and pay it forward by supporting businesses in your community.

- Breathe. More than anything. Put the phone away. Be present. Meditate. Think. Journal. Be still and just be you.

We know this weekend is Mother’s Day and we’d love to take a moment for those moms, step-moms, sisters, aunties, mentors, best friends and more. We know Mother’s Day is different for all of us and know you’re loved and supported ❤️

2016 was a year of change. We’d had great press by then, our wholesale was strong but I was starting grow a bit restless. I had been dyeing our leggings, tanks & un**es for 5+ yrs and was ready for a new challenge.

1. I had been mixing dyes and applying colour to fabric using different techniques I’d learned at the Textile Arts Program and with & expanded on them in my own way.
2. We introduced our grippy socks in 2016. I started with ombre, the technique you can see here. I dyed a base colour of pink and hand-dipped them in purple to create a gradient effect. Not a mass production technique.
3. We still cut the hair ties and headbands by hand. My wrists still hate me for this.
4. I’d take photos of my hand-dyed work. Later, my staff told me that “feet aren’t free” and that was the end of this style of what I thought was cute photography ;)
5. Bolts of fabrics dyed up for our sewers to cut into un**es.
6. Barre was all the rage and our Adriana Leggings along with it.
7. We hosted community events. I spy a few familiar faces in there :)
8. We expanded our wholesale accounts with in Ottawa (now ) & built relationships with cool people like from (before “influencers” became a thing).
9. We worked with .barre of and & still do 10 yrs later ✨
10. We attended & sold at & was taking off.
11. I was still sewing my own samples and was looking at new pieces to introduce.
12. We started designing prints with the help of Paula Gonzales and local printers here in Van.
13. shot another e-comm campaign for us and the new Active line we were starting.
14. shot out 1st commercial lifestyle shoot.
15 - 17. + Kate from helped me launch the new line at in Huntington Beach. We also launched in NYC at Axis.
18. We were sourcing suppliers close to home and popped into a bra cup factory outside of LA. They showed us the molding process.
19. Travel was a huge part of the year with trips to Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Mexico, California, NYC and more.
