All of you Tula fans out there who have decided to make Arcadia in the Tula colorway....there is another decision. See those stripes? You will have the option to piece in those stripes or just sew on the ribbon. It takes 20+ yards of ribbon for these quilts and I will need two spools for each of the kits. Please let me know if you want the ribbon so I can have enough on hand for you. It's a pricy option, but this colorway deserves this cool embellishment.

With my Pfaff scheduled for routine maintenance today, I have chosen to utilize my most recent Featherweight acquisition. I have found a trustworthy Featherweight source. Rebecca Ann Glaze provides a spotless machine with a remarkably shiny finish, similar to a mirror. The machines also come with a refurbished case and specialty tools. I highly recommend Rebecca for Featherweight needs. She is currently providing maintenance services for two of my other Featherweights.

Have you considered going on one of our Quilting Cruises? We have two, 7-day round trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle scheduled.

Quilting cruises are a great value for your retreat money if you consider that your room and board are totally covered. Not just 3 squares a day, but basically food anytime you like...as well as snacks in our quilting room. Then you have the option to explore at the ports. We have the room open as early and as late as you want! Lots of time to sew.

Bring your non-quilting buddy too! My husband loves these cruises as he likes fishing excursions at every port.

Certified Instructor Carin Brimley joins us and will provide expert instruction to guide you through any Quiltworx pattern you are making. In 2027 we are teaching the new Arcadia pattern that will be released in January. You can make anything you like and we will be there to help.

I just scheduled our next group of FREE Zoom Sew-ins for July. July always makes me think of Christmas in July. Since I plan to be making two identical quilts for Christmas presents for grandsons I thought that Christmas in July would be a great theme.

Not to worry, you can make anything you like, but wouldn't it be fun is most of us were making a Christmas quilt or present. Just join us for a fun time sewing with friends. Lots of tips and tricks are shared and of course solutions for mistakes, which we all make.

I started sewing on my King (118x118) Luminary last week. It looked so intimidating that I actually have been marking trp lines and reading some of the directions. I even have been double checking the fabric color stacking order, which has been a waste of time since the cutting instructions set this up perfectly. This is yet another very well made pattern by Quiltworx and I'm so glad I'm making it.

I've never made a King quilt but that floating triangle border grabbed me. My design board isn't big enough for this, but I'll manage. The longarm is, so at least I won't have to turn it.

I can't believe how fast this is going. I think it takes longer for me to cut out a kit! By that I mean cutting the 84 fabrics into strips for your kit plus the actual cutting of the fabrics I did for my kit to get ready to sew.

One of my favorite things has been the 3 fabrics in the units in the Flower Pot Border ... the ones in the picture with the triangles in solids. (I know this name because I read the instructions...I'm so proud of myself!) All the fabrics are labeled with a letter that corresponds to the color group...like R for red, O for orange, etc. The 3 fabrics in each unit are so unique and blend so well.

If you haven't bought this kit, you might want to consider it. So gorgeous. Just go to my website and search "Luminary" and the options will come up. But give me a few days to get the kit cut and ready to ship...like I said...84 fabrics in the King. Not that many less for the smaller versions. It will ship to you free within the US and have that awesome kit guarantee.

Every time I see the Bioluminescence colorway on the cover of this pattern, I think of my favorite rock in the middle of the Caribbean Sea...Cayman. If you wait for the moon to be shadowed (not the song) you can kayak out to this bay and see the water sparkle with these microscopic organisms that just glow, especially when the water is disturbed. Since I don't care for night diving, this is my favorite adventure at night in Cayman.

Could these colors match any better? So gorgeous.

I finally finished making Dragon's Tail in my favorite NHL team colors - the Seattle Kraken. Who has even heard of them? They were an expansion team a few years ago. I'd love to make a kit for you in your favorite team colors, no matter the sport. Just let me know which team. Look closely at the first one. I even fussy cut the Kraken logos into the quilt.

Have you made a quilt to celebrate America's 250th anniversary? I have. I made the Moda panel version. It was the first quilt I've made that wasn't paper pieced since I can remember. I managed to actually do it and still match the seams and did it all in one day. That means you still have time to create a beautiful quilt for your celebrations. I have 3 for you to consider.
