Learning to control your weight and hands at contact will set you up for success every time.

Think weight before hands.

It should feel “easy”.

This means you used your weight properly.

Every day we talked softball.
Every night we practiced.
Every weekend we played.
Softball bonded our relationship.
This sport helped you guide me and get me to where I am today and for that I’m so grateful.
But when I hung up those cleats, we no longer had those moments.
That has been one of the harder adjustments I have had to experienced since hanging up those cleats.
Now lacing up those turfs gives me the same kind of excitement.
You still have to coach me & I still get to spend time with you 🫶🏻

Season is just around the corner - you are teaching your team how to prepare for the season but what are YOU doing to prepare.

4 things to do to prepare as a travel ball coach:

1. LAY THE SEASON GROUND RULES:
- what are the expectations?
- what is the team etiquette?
- how do you reset as a team?

2. HOST A SOFTBALL EVENT AT HOME:
- go over signs
- review system plays
- watch NCAA softball games
- do some team bonding activities

3. DO A NON SOFTBALL TEAM EVENT:
- no softball talk
- understand each other
- have fun

4. REFLECT - WRITE IT OUT:
- what do you want this season to look like?
- what is your game day routine?
- what kind of leader do you want to be?
