Understnin and Discerning the Times and Making Wise Decisions (1 Chronicles 12:32)

Says that the men of Issachar "understood the times" This verse doesn't provide explicit details about how they understood the times, but their ability to discern and interpret the significant events and seasons of their era is glaring in the actions that they took as they were able to understand "what Israel should do" in response to the times

1. Discernment and Knowledge
They possessed a keen understanding of the political, social, and religious climate of their time. This likely involved awareness of current events, leadership, and the overall direction of Israel. Note that the political social and religious landscape of the "world" is taking a new shift.
2. Wisdom and Insight
They had the wisdom to interpret these events within a broader context, potentially including the will of God.
3. Strategic Thinking
They were able to make informed decisions about what Israel should do. They knew how to react to the situations of the time.
4. Question for Practical Application Their understanding was not merely academic. What practical actions and counsel do you think Christian Leaders should take in order to align the Christians with God's will by leading people to the right direction?

Hebrews 11:8-10
Are you Pursuing An Earthly or an Eternal Dream?

8. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
9. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.
10. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

What is your greatest pursuit in this life?
Selfish Earthly Gains and Acclamations or Eternity with God?

The pursuit of the promised land indeed shaped Abraham's character and mindset, as he learned to prioritize his relationship with God and focus on eternal values rather than temporary earthly gains. This transformation within himself was the most valuable outcome of his pursuit. He became a seeker of God's kingdom not just a promised land. That's what qualifies him as "father of faith"

For those who pursue wealth, fame, and power solely for their own sake, it is important to remember that true fulfillment and purpose come from a deeper connection with God and a focus on eternal truths. Our character and relationships with God will ultimately determine our legacy and impact on others, far beyond any material wealth or temporary success.

Ultimately, it is not our earthly accomplishments that matter in the grand scheme of eternity, but rather the transformation of our hearts and minds to align with God's will and priorities. This shift in perspective can lead to a more fulfilling and impactful life, both in the present and for all of eternity.

Note that it is hard to pursue earthly things and not hurt fellow human beings. The list of vices committed by early seekers is long.

-hoarding resources
-corruption
-treating others as means to an end
-injustice
-discrimination
-violence
-deception
-manipulation
-oppression
-enabling harmful behavior
-ignoring the needs and rights of others
-Killings etc.

Who you are becoming in character speaks volumes of the kind of dream you are in pursuit of no matter how much you try to kook things up. You can deceive men but God knows you better
Amend your ways while you are still breathing.
