In a true martial home, caring for and loving your kids should be 50/50. I mean 50% from you and 50% from your spouse. This is a marital assignment.

No one has special love for the kids more than the other. Loving your spouse should be 100% and vice versa. Loving your kids more than your spouse is already a sign that all is not well with your home

When one partner starts loving the kids or putting more effort into the kids' upbringing more than the other, then there's a problem. Stop saying your kids are your everything. Your kids are everything to you and your spouse. You don't own them more than the other.

This is usually when the love geared towards your spouse is being diverted towards your kids. And remember, God joined you and your spouse together, and those kids were just an addition. They came in as a blessing to your union and not as a barrier to the beautiful promises you made when you first met each other.

No matter how we may twist it, if you suddenly start loving your kids more than your spouse, then the foundation upon which your love was built is already shaking. Your spouse should be your best friend and the closest person to you on earth. If your kids are more closer, then the handwriting is glaring.
