Matt Chung is the sunny boy in i-Cable TV. He is currently an anchor of a few popular entertainment news programmes. So how did it all begin? What is the real Matt outside the TV box? Let’s find out what Matt has to share with us.
D: What can you tell us about yourself?
M: I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I spent most of my childhood playing sports as an overactive teenage until my mom decided to send me away to a boarding school in England. My boarding school experience completely changed my life, I became more independent, more open-minded and willing to explore and engage the world around me.
D: What is your inspiration to be a reporter/ anchor?
M: Frankly, I have never dreamt of becoming an anchor, it just happened. I wanted to try something interesting after graduation and working in Cable TV became my first full-time job. I didn't think I could have gone this far, from being a reporter to an anchor, hosting programmes, interviewing Hollywood stars etc.. I guess I just love what I do and it's not too late to find out ;-)
D: What's your fashion preference?
M: I love street fashion, a bit of mix and match. I always go for something simple and chic, just like Dare to Dream, simple design spiced up and accented by small details ;-)
D: Who is your muse?
M: My mom will always be my muse, for a single woman to raise a child like me, I know it's not easy. I will do whatever I can to make her life better.
D: What is your nickname at work?
M: I call myself “fattymatty” but all my friends and colleagues call me “camel”, because of my big smile and apparently I look exactly like the advert icon of a chewing gum brand.
D: Do you have a lifetime motto that you’d remind yourself of?
M: Live fast, die young. You never know what's going to happen in life, spend your life with no regrets and leave a good looking co**se.
D: What can we be expecting from you in the future?
M: A better me. Be prepared for the challenges in the entertainment industry, you never know what's going to happen next, I may become the next best actor ;) However, I have set a big goal for my anchor career: to be as awesome as Ellen DeGeneres.
