Houndstooth isn't making a comeback. It never left.
Every few years, the fashion press "discovers" houndstooth again. But anyone who owns a good houndstooth blazer knows the truth β it was never gone, because it was never dependent on a trend to look right.
Three things most people don't know:
The pattern is woven, not printed. Those zig-zag lines are built into the cloth thread by thread. That's why they don't fade, peel, or wash out β even after years of wear and dry cleaning.
It's a century-old design that still holds its own. From Scottish tweeds to Paris runways, every generation has re-discovered houndstooth β and every generation kept it.
It rewards the patient buyer. A woven pattern won't look great in the shop and fall apart after three washes. What you try on is what you get β for years.
Trends are loud. Woven patterns are quiet β and quietly, they win.
Be honest: do you buy a pattern because it's trending, or because it will still look right five years from now?
