We are thrilled to announce that AMA WEAR will participate at the Mastectomy Makers & Community event happening on Sunday 10th May in London! 💂💂💂 This meaningful event is organised by Eno Eco in partnership with Hello Beautiful Foundation and Hello Love as part of the festival Empowered by Love.

This is a special opportunity to meet the founders of post-mastectomy brands who share one powerful purpose: to expand and improve what’s available after a mastectomy. 🙏

AMA WEAR – fashion for women with one breast – unfortunately can not be there in person, but our founder Barbara Pella created a short video to introduce herself and to talk about how AMA WEAR was born. Dear ladies, do you want to learn sewing? 🪡🧵
Then I have some exciting news from AMA WEAR! 🤩 Together with Czech fashion designer & sewing instructor Ivana Kaňovská I will organise sewing workshops for women who underwent breast removal due to breastcancer! Whether you've had a single or double mastectomy, if you think the design we realize is right for you, then we warmly welcome you. 🥰

We're starting the workshops in Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2026 🎗️ In a small, intimate group with a maximum of 5 participants, we'll sew a garment from the AMA WEAR collection. Each workshop will feature a different design 👗👚, so you can register based on which one appeals to you.

Soon we're organizing a free 🔥 test workshop where we'll sew the dress with twisted shoulder (see picture - variations are possible), a minimalistic design by Natálie Szegényová for AMA WEAR.
The test workshop will take place on Saturday, May 30th, and Sunday, May 31st, both days from 11:00 AM to approximately 6:00 PM, in Ivana's beautiful atelier in Malá Strana, Prague. Included are high-quality fabrics, refreshments, fun, new skills, supporting exchange, enough breaks, and your own handmade AMA WEAR garment. NO SEWING SKILLS REQUIRED 🙃
Together we speak: Czech, English, German, and Dutch.

To continue offering our "real" workshops free of charge, we are seeking funding. We will be taking photos and videos during the test workshop, as this is essential for bringing our concept to life. ✨ Also your honest feedback will be very valuable to us.

So happy to share that AMA WEAR has a new sewing pattern! ✨ Fashion designer Amy Keep from UK created especially for us a cosy sweatshirt for women with one breast. 💝 She made the sweatshirt from two different fabrics: a fluffy fabric on the side where the breast was removed, giving that part extra volume. In 2026, AMA WEAR (our meaningful NGO) remains fully committed to supporting women who have lost a breast due to breast cancer (unilateral mastectomy), have not undergone breast reconstruction (or are waiting for their appointment), and want the choice of wearing a bra with a prosthesis or not. 💃 They deserve to feel confident and strong, regaining dignity and femininity through fashion that fits. Because mental health is an important part of the healing process.

Our commitment transcends borders, because worldwide, one in seven women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. 🙏 We raise awareness about the importance of breast self-examination and inclusive fashion in all countries we collaborate with, we design clothing for asymmetrical torsos in cooperation with international fashion designers, and we provide the sewing patterns instead of manufacturing the garments, so that women worldwide have the opportunity to own our designs. 🧵🪡👗
