BERBER FLAMBOYANCE • • • Here comes a huge vintage Berber bakelite bead from Morocco in a warm cognac color. Largest measurements; : ca. 4 x 5 cm /just under 1.57 x 2.", 3 - 3.5 mm stringing hole; about 92 grams This large resin bead has been languishing in my drawer (waiting to be used in a beading project) for quite some time now and I have to admit that I probably will not use it any time soon… It's size is quite large and I only recently discovered that it is indeed a bakelite bead (simichrome -tested). The lovely warm-colored bead on offer here is probably not "antique", but very pleasant to touch and sensationally big. If you look closely can see some swirls in the material (I have tried my best to accurately show the color, but it is very difficult... ) depending on the light the intensity of the color differs even in real life.... TUAREG STYLE • • • An extravagant vintage and pre-loved Tuareg-style statement ring made of metal, probably 70/80s. Inner diameter: approx. 16 mm, ring band: 9 - 32 mm wide, US ring size 5 (max 5 ½), max. Dimension of the rectangle: ca. 32 x 13 mm, ca. 16.6 g This extravagant ring is made in the style of Tuareg jewelry. It reminds me very much of the asseccoires of the French jewelry manufacturer “Scooter Paris”, which made costume jewelry based on ethnic jewelry that is very collectable today. TURKMEN TREASURE • • • Rare Turkmen high-grade silver cuff bracelet most likely from an Afghan Ersari tribe, but none of the reference books is really sure about this style of cuff which adds to the air of mystery surrounding it. Inside diameter (oval): max. 6.2 cm / 2.44", width (Height):max. 4 cm / 1.58", opening /gap: 32 - 35 mm, ca. 61 grams, fantastic condition. A central decorated band divides the cuff into two parts. On the back three sets of claws hold the bracelet securely and comfortably on your wrist. I love the extremely fine craftsmanship and the wonderful smooth silver. Minimally flexible. A CLASSIC • • • Gorgeous minimalist Vintage designer cuff. Ethnic-inspired design, reminiscent of the silver jewelry worn in the Golden Triangle region. At the same time it is incredibly modern. Concave shape. Maximum inside diameter (oval shape): 6.7 cm / 2.64", opening (as-is): ca. 3.1 cm / 1.25 ", width: about 2.8 cm / 1.1", over 65 grams. Stamped 925, but tests only as silver-plated – thickly tho! The cuff is quite solid and only minimally flexible. Can be worn by a woman with a larger wrist or a man with a slender/medium wrist. HOLY BEETLE • • • This ring is a fabulous Egyptian Revival find. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it... Vintage scarab ring from Mid-20th Century inspired by the treasures of Tut Ench Amun, worked in silver with a light-blue stone, faience or clay scarab in the design of ancient models. The silver band is sightly quite a small size. The scarab measures ca. 1.9 x 1.6 x 1 cm / 0.75 x 0.63 x 0.4", inside diameter of the ring band: max. 1.7 cm / 0.67", sShould fit a US ring size ca. 6 - 6.5, 6.2 grams. • • • DJERBA MY LOVE This wonderful, byzantine-looking old North African Berber bracelet from the island of Djerba / Tunisia. It must have been loved for a lifetime by its last wearer. It radiates warmth and character. Inner diameter (oval): max. 5.3 - 5.7 cm, width: approx. 3 cm (with pin 4 cm), approx. 40 grams Please note that this bangle is quite small and not perfectly round, but rather oval. The bracelet has a hinge and is closed with a pin. Stamped several times with Tunisian “tête de Maure” stamp and tested positive for around 800 pieces of silver. The earrings themselves are made of a low silver alloy or maybe alpaca; the ear hooks are at least 800 silver (tested), maybe even sterling. With huge turquoise stone with beautiful spiderweb matrix. Inner diameter: max. 6 cm (somewhat flexible, slightly oval), width: just under 3 cm, opening: approx. 2.9 cm, stone: 29 x 21 mm, weight: approx. 64 g I think the stone is a genuine turquoise (spiderweb? Hubei?). The bangle is a medium size and is very comfortable to wear due to the oval shape on the inside. It is also flexible enough to make it a little larger or smaller without any problems. HIPPIE TALISMAN • • • Marvelous double "claw" charm from the 70's! Such handmade pendants made of horn imitating teeth and claws were made mainly in India and were popular among the hippies... Maximum width of the pendant (from tooth tip to tooth tip): about 4.9 cm / 1.9", height of the pendant (without eyelet): max. 3.5 cm / 1.38", approx. 10 g The amulet is a vintage piece, but of an ancient design that can be found in many cultures around the world from Europe to Ethiopia and to Southeast Asia. In general, claws and teeth are considered powerful talismans, which are supposed to give their owner the qualities of the particular animal (courage, strength).
