PINESKINS POUF is on show at as a part of exhibition until September 13th ✨

PineSkins pouf blurs the boundary between functional furniture and artefact. Its form evokes a tree stump and an abstract landscape, covered with over 2,000 scales made of PineSkins—an innovative material developed by designer Sarmīte Poļakova. Produced from softened pine bark, this material transforms by-products of the timber industry into a tactile and sensorial design experience.

REMINISCENT OF A NIGHTSTAND

Crafted of larger bark squares, this nightstand abstracts the rich bark pattern into a three-dimensional experience. This handmade masterpiece marries harmony and form and will seamlessly integrate into any interior.
Reminiscent is a rhythmical collection of PineSkins nightstands, where sensoriality takes centre stage. With every angle and detail, this collection transforms the essence of the pine tree into a sensorial journey. Three effortless yet special pieces—a seat, side table, and cabinet—harmonize within any interior, whether showcased as a set or as standalone pieces.

REMINISCENT OF A SEAT
The bark squares are abstracted into a mesmerising pattern that evokes memories of forest and earth. The upholstery, made of soft taupe-toned velvet fabric, adds to an interesting sensorial interplay with the bark while seamlessly extending each other.
This seat is a part of PineSkins newest collection REMINISCENT.
Three effortless yet special pieces—a seat, side table, and cabinet—harmonize within any interior, whether showcased as a set or as standalone pieces. Each creation is masterfully crafted from solid wood, adorned with PineSkins’ softened bark veneer, and enhanced with brushed burnished brass accents.

With the year nearing to its end, it is time to celebrate some wonderful collaborations and outcomes of 2024.

As first, our newest addition to the PineSkins family:

REMINISCENT
– a rhythmical collection of PineSkins nightstands, where sensoriality takes centre stage. With every angle and detail, this collection transforms the essence of the pine tree into a sensorial journey. The bark’s delicate, leathery surface - merges with warm, earthy tones and a whisper of forest fragrance, evoking a sensation that is at once familiar and intriguingly new.

A case study for recycled denim dye 🌀

Recycled denim biotextiles explore how existing industrial waste streams could be used to create generational materials. By putting back excess denim dye (released with each laundry wash) into production we can create material interactions that remind us of the source material yet brings along a very different feeling.
The recycled dye is incorporated into a mixture of biodegradable polymers and casted into smooth, soft translucent biotextiles.
