Meanwhile places like Pakistan and India are undergoing heavy rains, monsoons, and floods — news predominantly ignored by European press outlets. This July, our campaign is focused on providing funds for our partner affiliate in Pakistan as well as NGOs in Assam, India to distribute pads to those affected. As ISTG Germany, we started this donation pool is to provide relief for flood victims in Pakistan and India. The total amount will be split between NGOs in each area. Through a collaboration with ISTG Pakistan, we are gathering funds to distribute menstrual pads to those affected by the heavy rain in Pakistan, particularly those in "kachi abadi". With regards to India, the donations will be sent to provide relief for victims of the flooding in Assam.

Just yesterday the German government abolished Paragraph 219a which prohibits the “advertisement” (but really just general information) for and about abortion services. While this was a tiny step forward, Paragraph 218 still criminalises abortion, and organisations and politicians still campaign to strip the rights of childbearing bodies. Just a few hours after the announcement of the removal of 219a, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, marking a disastrous moment in history for not just those with uteruses, but for everyone who should be able to claim their basic human rights. It restricts the right to choose, to give consent, and to have privacy. We are deeply saddened and, quite frankly, emotionally destroyed by this outcome. We weep for our American friends and family and worry for what this means for the rest of the world.
