Cabinet of Curiosity | OOAK 20s Ouraline dangle earrings

A curiosity between archaeology and science but a must-have for vintage collector and lovers!

What is Ouraline?
Also named jadite glass, this material was very popular between 1880 and 1920, even if it seems it exists since Antiquity.

Very few amount of uranium is included during the manufacturing process of the crystal to get a stunning shade of green looking like to chrysoprase gemstone. That's why when this crystal is enlighted with black light (UV), it becomes neon green! So funny!

And finally the question that you certainly have in mind is "Is it dangerous ?" Because you know uranium, radioactivity, ...
A study by Nuclear Regulatory Commission said the level of radioactivity is very low, lower than natural radioactivity of any object. And it is products containing radium rather than uranium that are ultimately dangerous.

20s vintage Czech crystal beads coming from New Old Stock of a Parisian Couture House.
Anti-allergic findings (chain, ear hook,...), ideal for the nowadays flappers!
Due to the rarity of vintage beads, very limited quantities.
