One of my all time favourites ❤️
This beauty combined some of my favourite fabrics from and .
It’s nice that my quilts can live out their best lives with someone else. Quilts need to be used, loved and snuggled under. And I just don’t have the space to keep them all 😜
I’m pleased I have some images I can look back on though.

I found the screen on Vinted, and most of the fabric was from my stash, or from Vinted 🤭 so this is a proper upcycle project.
All the blocks have been made, I just need to stitch them together, layer and quilt them, bind them, and then tie the 3 panels to the frame!
I’ve enjoyed the progress on this one.

There’s not been much sewing happening over here in recent weeks. After what felt like a long, wet, cold winter, the sun has pulled me outside.
I ache all over and my bones are complaining, but there is little space for chronic illness when spring is in the air!
Hubbie has built me another 2 raised beds in the allotment, and I’ve been busy preparing the spaces for growing.
So far I have cauliflower, lettuce, broccoli, peas, beans, radish, onions and spinach starting. There are plans for kale and maybe pumpkins at a later date.
Plenty of other little jobs are being done too - painting fences, weeding, sowing flower beds and cutting back trees.
I basically follow around after my other half, doing all the little jobs I can manage.
It’s very satisfying 😊
But, not much sewing happening. Although I did make this bunting to try and keep the blackbirds off my beds.
I have my ditsy floral print, star block quilt ready to baste, but I just haven’t had the energy to roll around on the floor pinning it. I will though, as once it starts getting too hot to be out in the garden, I love to sit in the shade, hand quilting ♥️. So watch this space!
Here’s to another lovely sun filled day in the garden 🪴

With spring finally here, I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to achieve over the next few months.
I love the energy and enthusiasm that comes with spring. It’s like we’ve woken up and have kick started life again.
We’ve already worked through some projects and are loving the time outside.
But there are still plenty of things indoors that can be done.
However, I just want to be outside as much as possible!
Managing all these plans with chronic pain is not easy. But taking one day at a time, and breaking tasks into small chunks, bit by bit, I’m achieving.
I can feel my body is fighting me, but moving outside is calming my head and mind. And that always wins out!

My name’s Jo and I love to quilt ❤️
I have a passion for patchwork, especially hand quilting.
Most of my quilts feature vintage inspired patterns and reflect my love of colour.

🇬🇧 It feels like life has changed and flipped a complete 180. A few weeks ago I was stitching away and planning on quilting my latest finish.
But now the sun is out and garden jobs are calling me! Even with very limited strength and endurance I am able to find things I can do to help the garden grow this year.
I’m planning the allotment space, have flower seeds at the ready and have helped hubbie to plant out some new additions ❤️
But the daffodils are the first sign that spring is in the air, and this year did not disappoint.
Sewing might take a bit of a back seat, but projects are still slowly getting worked on.
But for now… I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy some sun ☀️ 🌼 🌸

I’ve just finished putting together this lovely top. I really enjoyed using all my diary floral prints and pulling them together with the pastel plain cottons.
I know, I know, it’s another star quilt 🤭
I just can’t stop!!
But they turn out so pretty 😍
I have my backing fabric ready and a roll of wadding, so some hand quilting might start again soon 🤩

Progress report on my current quilt…
It’s going well! Lots of cuddly sofa time needed to stitch this one, and as it’s been a slow, quiet week, I’ve got plenty of stitches in.
It’s such a delight to work on. I know I say it about every quilt I make, but I think this is a new favorite 🤩
