There’s not been much sewing happening over here in recent weeks. After what felt like a long, wet, cold winter, the sun has pulled me outside.
I ache all over and my bones are complaining, but there is little space for chronic illness when spring is in the air!
Hubbie has built me another 2 raised beds in the allotment, and I’ve been busy preparing the spaces for growing.
So far I have cauliflower, lettuce, broccoli, peas, beans, radish, onions and spinach starting. There are plans for kale and maybe pumpkins at a later date.
Plenty of other little jobs are being done too - painting fences, weeding, sowing flower beds and cutting back trees.
I basically follow around after my other half, doing all the little jobs I can manage.
It’s very satisfying 😊
But, not much sewing happening. Although I did make this bunting to try and keep the blackbirds off my beds.
I have my ditsy floral print, star block quilt ready to baste, but I just haven’t had the energy to roll around on the floor pinning it. I will though, as once it starts getting too hot to be out in the garden, I love to sit in the shade, hand quilting ♥️. So watch this space!
Here’s to another lovely sun filled day in the garden 🪴
