Process behind a white gold engagement ring with 0,9ct natural diamond & hidden emerald

The slides show the making process of this special commission from the wax sculpting stage until the finished polished piece. The main technical challenge of this piece was not only to hand carve ( no 3D ! ) 2 rings that perfectly intertwine, but I also made it my personal mission to honour the clients brief of 2 inseperable rings to the maximum I could. So I thought rather than casting 2 seperate rings and linking them afterwards, it would be amazing to cast the rings already fully interwined. So since their existence they have been seperated. Linking both waxes together into 1 single unit, yet avoiding their surfaces touching was a true headache but finally I am so happy I went this path.

When I work on bespoke jewellery, the process of making each jewel is at least as important to me as the final piece itself. Its where I refine my skills and where I challenge myself to create something with meaning for my clients.

OPEN ATELIER - Paris Design Week:

I will open the atelier on the 11th & 12th of September to the public during my participation in Paris Design Week .
Visitors will be able to discover new, never released unique pieces, as well as previous work. Its a great opportunity to learn about the craftsmanship behind my jewellery pieces and to discover my creative universe.

Alongside my atelier 12 other creatives within the Cité des Taillandiers will also open their spaces. Amongst them designer, artists and craftsmen working within the fields of ceramics, wood, sculpture, product design, metal work, painting ….

Bespoke engagement ring commissioned for Emily

2 white gold rings set with a 0.6 ct natural diamond & hidden emerald

A couple of months ago a NYC based client commissioned this special piece. The ring consists of two perfectly interwined and inseparable rings, one of them being textured, the other one perfectly smooth with a natural diamond at its centre. You’ll find a small hidden emerald detail inside one of the rings.

In my next post I will show more of the crafting process behind this piece which was a great technical challenge.

Ring 06 | 11 from the Sapphire Edition

This is the most precious piece from the edition set with a natural sapphire of 2.06 ct which has been hand selected for its beautiful and unique rich inner landscape. It has a soft ocean blue colour with lighter and darker hues throughout the stone. The sapphire is held in place by the surrounding metal folds.
