L’ÉPAISSEUR DU VIDE (The Density of the Void), 2026
A film by Camille Roquet in collaboration with Louis-Gabriel Nouchi

Through a digital wandering within a curated corpus of archives (1950-2026), .roquet explores the persistence of the carnal gesture. The film draws a parallel between “physiques,” early clandestine films disguised as athletic documentaries, and the contemporary cult of the muscle, where the body appears as a modeled and performative form.

By translating the video into grayscale to extract only its volume, the artist strips away detail to retain nothing but a lacunary trace of movement.
Between repetition and decomposition, the consumable image is transformed into a sculptural surface: an aesthetic of absence rather than monstration, in tribute to the vision of Jean Genet and Bob Mizer.
