Tired of the usual small bag sporran?

Our “Bertie” is designed with both style and practicality in mind. Inspired by the grand Victorian-era sporrans favoured by the future King Edward VII (“Bertie”), it offers exceptional capacity while retaining its elegant period appearance.

As shown, the Bertie comfortably accommodates your phone, keys, wallet and other everyday essentials, making it the perfect companion for a day at the Highland Games, a gathering, or any occasion where you need more than the average sporran can carry.

With its generous proportions and unmistakable Victorian character, the Bertie proves that a traditional sporran can be both striking and genuinely practical.

We received an enquiry last week regarding a Prince Philip-style sporran, with the customer advising, “I will be in Edinburgh from the 28th–30th of May — is this doable?”

Following a phone call to discuss the details, I was pleased to confirm: “Yes, we can do that.”

Not every sporran can be supplied at such short notice, as some designs require more intricate craftsmanship and longer production times. However, if you have a specific sporran in mind and are working to a deadline, please get in touch.

We are always happy to discuss your requirements and provide realistic estimates for completion and delivery. Sometimes, even a seemingly impossible timescale can be achieved.

From my own personal collection, purchased from our good friends at House of Labhran in November 2024.

An exceptional antique Scottish dress sporran dating from circa 1880–1890, featuring a beautifully engraved nickel silver cantle with traditional five-knob mount, under-set with a black leather slip.

This striking Victorian-style dress sporran has been faithfully restored by Margaret Morrison of Perth with a new Ox blood goat hair body, complete with three chain-strung tassels in matching goat hair, each topped with vintage cone mounts. To the rear is a military-style back pouch purse crafted in richly tooled oxblood leather.
The goat hair is now beginning to take on its own aged patina, making this a beautiful Victorian Sporran.

A true classic of Highland dress, this elegant form of sporran became widely admired through the celebrated works of Kenneth MacLeay, particularly his 1860s commission for Queen Victoria, The Highlanders of Scotland — a remarkable visual record of Highland life and dress during the Victorian era.
Description accredited to House of Labhran.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 — 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐬

A bold expression of Highland tradition at its most refined, The Brock Collection brings together two distinguished interpretations of one of Scotland’s most iconic native creatures — The Brock D’Argent and The Gilded Brock.

Rooted in the Old English brocc and Gaelic broc, meaning grey, the name evokes an animal long esteemed in folklore as a quiet guardian — symbolising wisdom, resilience, and enduring strength. Drawing on this noble character, each sporran unites natural beauty with masterful craftsmanship.

At the heart of both designs is a full European badger pelt, carefully selected for its rich guard hairs, distinctive markings, and natural symmetry. The balanced lines of the badger’s face create a commanding centrepiece, giving each piece unmistakable depth, presence, and authenticity.

To the rear, a traditional military-style back in hand-dyed oxblood leather allows the sporran to sit neatly and comfortably against the apron of the kilt.

Suspended below are six sumptuous tassels crafted from deep black musquash, their soft lustre offering a refined contrast against the textured badger fur. From here, the two designs reveal their individual character.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐃’𝐀𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 is completed with a hand-crafted nickel cantle and intricately detailed nickel-plated thistle tassels, creating a striking silver-toned finish that catches the light with understated confidence.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤 features beautifully detailed gilded fittings and a hand-crafted gilded cantle, bringing warmth, richness, and a distinguished golden character to the piece.

Subtle burgundy accents throughout both designs provide a quiet nod to traditional Highland dress, completing the composition with elegance and restraint.

Handmade in Perth by skilled artisans, every element of The Brock Collection reflects an unwavering commitment to heritage and quality. From the careful balance of materials to the precision of its finishing, these are pieces designed to be worn with pride — whether on parade, at formal occasions, or as part of a distinguished collection.

Two finishes. One unmistakable statement.
Timeless, commanding, and unmistakably Scottish — The Brock Collection is more than a sporran; it is tradition, craftsmanship, and enduring style.

Introducing "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧” a distinguished new colourway from Oorlich Designs. Named in honour of a highly regarded friend, the colour draws inspiration from the Burgundies and Merlots once imported by John Buchanan & and Co., the renowned Glasgow wine merchants of the early 1800s. The Buchanans brought fine Burgundy and Bordeaux wines to Scotland under the historic Auld Alliance with France — a partnership long synonymous with refinement, trade, and tradition. In that same spirit, The Buchanan reflects Scotland’s enduring heritage and its deep connections to craftsmanship, culture, and friendship across the centuries. The Buchanan is a deep Merlot colour, bringing together the Scottish and French connection.
