We have been shortlisted for the Circular Fashion Award by Wool is at the heart of our circularity initiative. Each tailored garment is designed to last at least 10 years, with many clients returning their pieces for a refresh, even 20 or 30 years after purchase. The cloth enjoys a long life in the form of a jacket, waistcoat, trouser, skirt, or overcoat.

But what about the fabric that doesn’t make it into the final garment? These leftover pieces, known as off-cuts, aren’t discarded. Instead, we’ve partnered with a local business that repurposes these scraps into sustainable felt packaging and mattress stuffing.

Even the wool dust collected from the air in their factory is put to good use, compressed into
bales and distributed to local livestock farmers (including sheep farmers). From sheep to suit
to sheep beds, our wool goes full circle.

We are honoured to have been Shortlisted for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award by

Tailoring is an inherently sustainable craft but we take it further. We hand cut every garment from a single piece of cloth and cloth off-cuts end up on the Cutting Room floor. These do not go in the rubbish. They go down the street to our partners who then create sustainable packaging and mattress stuffing out of them. What’s more, the very dust from the air in their factory is gathered and put into bales which are then shared with local livestock farmers, including sheep farmers. From sheep to sheep! Circular sustainability at its finest.

Finally, in addition to the very core of our business being built around a sustainable product, we recycle everything in our own factory. Yes, the cloth off-cuts but also plastic, metal and paper and then anything else that can be made into a treasure or used in some way, we re-purpose and re-use, like cloth bits made into a very nice Christmas wreath 🙂
