Hello good people of the internet, I’m after some help! I fancied making some Saltire inspired bits and bobs to celebrate the upcoming football shenanigans so I did some swatches, which one do you like the most? The pattern could be for cowls, hats, headbands, handwarmers, poss a cushion cover, maybe some other bits and bods 🤔. The aim was not to go full on Saltire, more of a suggestion of the Saltire, and I might switch out the white for a more earthy marled off white. If you had to choose one, which one would it be, 1, 2 or 3? (Ignore pattern mistakes, they’re sorted). I may also not use any and do some more swatches 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I made a hat, and then I made another one and now I’m addicted 😆. I’m calling it the Scottish Summer Beanie, because we all know what Scottish summer is and how we sometimes need a lightweight hat for when the wind blows! 💨 Unusually, I made the second one from the top down rather than bottom up, much easier!

We took a little trip to the beach yesterday to soak up some rays and take some pics of some knits 😎. Just glorious, so very lucky to have this on our doorstep. Big thanks to for making everything beautiful 🥰. We had a sweet visit from Callie the dog on the beach and Flora’s first official order for a doggy scarf 🐕

As a newbie to machine knitting I have quite a high failure rate! Learning something new can mean a few restarts and the yarn is too precious to waste, especially this beautiful yarn 😍. ‘Don’t rip ma knitting’ has new meaning for me now 😅. Fun fact, ripping back your knitting is also known as ‘frogging’ because ‘rip it rip it rip it’ 😂

Welcome to my page! I recently set up Isle of Wool Designs to pick up where I left off only 24 years ago 🙈 😅. Back then I had a teeny tiny knitwear business selling sweet little knits for babies and toddlers, but I also had my hands full with my own babies and toddlers and so Tiddely Pom Designs as it was then called was put on the back burner. Fast forward to 2026, the kids are grown ups, we now live on the Isle of Mull, and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join a business start up programme and as a passionate advocate for all things woolly, Isle of Wool rose from the ashes. Now the proud owner of an absolute classic knitting machine from the 80s, the mighty Knitmaster 700, I have spent the last month figuring out its wily ways. There has been blood, sweat and tears. But I am delighted to say, some things have been made and I have my first sale at the Dervaig producers market on Sunday 12th April. Please come and see me and give me a follow on FB and Instagram!
