I’m excited to be part of Derbyshire Makes - an annual countywide programme celebrating making in all its forms. Derbyshire Makes: Women Who Make is a welcoming space within Derbyshire Makes that champions women’s creativity, labour and lived experience, and I will be having a market stall @ Women Who Make Marketplace on 30th of May at Hardwick Hall!

Hello March❤️ Feels like the long gray wet weather is over and spring is coming now! Why not add a haori jacket into your wardrobe?! Haori is normally worn over kimono but I coordinate with t-shirt or jumper and a pair of jeans like a light jacket. These 4 haori are on Etsy and I’ll list more variations soon!

7th of January is the day we eat Nanakusagayu (
herbs rice porridge) in Japan. The seven herbs are believed to ward off evil spirits because they sprout early in the spring. The purpose of this tradition is to pray for good health for the year and to give the stomach a rest after the New Year. I can’t get those specific Japanese herbs here so I made rice porridge with turnip, turnip leaves, spinach and leek with some chicken for protein. My child is not a big fan of the quiet taste of rice porridge but I want to keep the Japanese tradition as much as possible to remind my root😅
