Dark mornings are here!

What was I thinking walking down Jackson’s in the dark, cold and wet at 7am 🤬

Getting in however was pleasantly surprising, the sea felt warm and we had a great zoom around Nells, lovely bouncy swim back into Whitmore albeit a bit chilly walking back home.
Never regret a swim 😁

It was a choppy, eerie swim this evening. Out from Whitmore ( eventually ) and a zoom around Nells, wind on our side into Jackson’s Bay. Torches out, our spotter on land and a few mega ‘slappers’, the waves I mean 🌊 ☺️

What an amazing few days for a local Barry business mor_a_sawna.

Not to mention her TWO business winner awards last night 🤪but the huge success of her free wellness day a Barry Yacht Club 🥳

The awards ( one happened when I was in the loo 😤🙈) are fantastic and won for the third year in a row. 🤩

Kath was then up at dawn to run this free event. Her sauna got booked up fast all day long and so did her Tropic facials ☺️

The larger community experienced free tasters in yoga, drumming, rowing, SUP, meditation, sound baths, meditation, menopause advice, diets and so much more. It was a huge success. 🥳

Kath, thank you for helping me with my unplanned reinvention. The whisking course and training in facials 😍I can’t describe how happy I felt today because the clients were happy. 💝

My plea… as a previous Barry business owner I know how ‘hard’ it is. Please support these local wellness businesses. The sauna on the beach,Lles Sports Massage & Yoga, Humata Yoga Coaching, rowing, Island SUP, , It’s all here right on your doorstep. 🙏💝

I wasn’t sure if to post this but in honour of our beautiful dog, best friend, swim buddy, tail wagger ‘Jackson’ I will. 💝

My first post about Jackson shows how very much he loved Jackson’s Bay; the sand, the sea and me ( Jax loved and was loved by everyone by the way ) and the surrounding beaches.

He was named after Jackson’s Bay beach and he was a wonderful surprise for my 40th birthday. 🥳 My husband signed his name ‘Jackson’ in a birthday card and before even reading I said we should call him ‘Jackson’. From then on that beautiful dog got me out in my lovely environment once again come rain or shine.

My sons Caleb and Tyler shared the following Christmas’s with him getting in the way of all the gifts and creating carnage and out with us on most of our trips and holiday breaks too. He was like the third child.

No tears PLEASE 🌈 but Jackson left us on Thursday after a very sudden illness. 💔

I wanted to share some lovely photos of our most handsome ( some say pretty ) boy enjoying the beaches here in Barry. I really do celebrate his lovely life and photos help us do that. 🌈💕💝

A quiet week for swimming🌧️. It has been an absolutely lovely summer ☀️but I’m grateful for a bit of rain. 🌻

Lovely to see some of the watchtower_waders today and practice my new skills from the sauna. Thank you.

🥳What a busy couple of weeks for the swimmers🥳 so many August birthdays 🦁 Do you think we celebrated by the sea?

🌊We certainly did there were celebrations in Skomer, Whitmore Bay ( of course ) Jackson’s Bay and Jackson’s sauna mor_a_sawna and with the point swimmers a birthday was celebrated in the middle of the ocean somewhere. 🤣

There were puffins 😍 nosecco ( celebrated before work ) ridiculous onesies ( most had ) cake and home made s**t ( far from s**t actually ) Gin and a partial solar eclipse 🌒

Another year gone by creating memories 💕

I do have one more birthday in August ( mother ) but land based activities preferred.

Great to be back swimming in the silty Barry sea. ☺️

A 2.5k swim from Jackson’s to the Old Harbour with a nice tidal assist last night. Wind causing a very enjoyable lumpy section at Nells 😁

The slog into the Bay was fine with just an upturned paddle board and a curious baby seagull for distraction.

Coastwatch centre was alerted to our swim and numbers in our group before hand and our spotter on land captured our videos.

Always swim within your own capabilities, be aware of tides and weather conditions and wear a bright tow float for visibility. 🤩
