Finally finished it and it's on the wall! It's taken ages doing little bits each day but it's done.. ☺️ It's a little bit of sunshine on the wall and makes me smile. A nice way to use up scraps of fabric. Maybe I'll make another one!

I've not been able to sew since October as I badly injured my hand, dislocating my fingers and ripping my ligaments. I'm gradually returning to little bits of sewing and this I can do by keeping my hands flat on the bed of the machine and doing little bits at a time. So nice to get back to a little bit of creativity again. It's so good for the soul! ☺️

I bought a Christmas panel earlier in the year and some matching fabric to make my sister a Christmas quilt and cushion which has now taken pride of place by the hearth. A bit of fussy cutting around the edge and some precision stitching finished off the edging. Glad I made it early so she could use it!

Went to the American Museum in Bath today to see their collection of patchwork quilts as I wanted some inspiration. I realised I last went over 40 years ago!! The quilts are so beautiful and some are over 120 years old. So inspiring to think that they were made by hand. Now to plan the next project in my head and decide whether to do mine by hand too!!

And it's done! Strange to think this is a year's worth of work, but it's all done and now I don't have anything to do!! I dare say it won't take me long to find a new project though.
Have thoroughly enjoyed doing this though and my doodling skills have definitely improved as the year has gone on. Would thoroughly recommend as a source of alternative mindfulness and it's such a nice way to reflect on a year!

I recently tried my hand at a new craft: Glass fusing, and had a super chilled out afternoon. Picked up the results yesterday and they are now proudly placed in the conservatory picking up the evening sun! If you live near Bath I'd recommend giving it a go... 🥰

I've not done an update for a while, but I've just caught up on my doodling after my holiday so I thought I'd share it. I have two months left to do. Still really enjoy doing it every day and it's like a gratitude journal where you have to think about something positive even when it's done nothing but pour with rain! I might end up having to go past September 9th to make sure it's completely filled, but I'll keep going until it is!

I spend half my life sat on the sofa either sewing or crocheting, I'm forever losing my scissors and one day I'm going to sit on a needle! So I decided to make myself a little sofa caddy. I did some English paper piecing patchwork and came up with a little tool station that can keep all my essentials including a little detachable thread bin so I don't leave a trail of threads everywhere! Quite pleased with the result! 😬

I had such a lot of fun over the last few weeks when my friend asked me if I would make a lap quilt for her mum. I'm not usually quite so quick, but this one only took me about two weeks to do and I really really enjoyed playing about with the colours and shapes. It really is one of a kind. 😁

For those of you that know me, know that I love to travel and I recently made some "Ouch Pouches" to take things like medical supplies and painkillers away on mini trips. On a recent trip away my friend and I decided we needed a little bag to take teabags and coffee etc with us. So after carefully sourcing of some fabric I made a little prototype today. And here it is. 🥰
