We arrived at our current location straight from France, just off a ferry.

It was 24th April 2025. I had my first courses booked for a week later and our Service department had 12 machines booked in for the next week.

My studio was the first room to be tackled because no matter what,the show must go on!

18 months later we have met so many new students and lots of our returning customers from Belfast.

Now located in County Armagh gives us access to a different dynamic and customer reach. With students travelling from agh, Cookstown, Dungannon, Newry, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.

We wrap up our 2026 season at the end of November, with more adventures to come in 2027!

From threading to wearing in just 6 weeks

Andrea travelled each Wednesday from Monaghan to her Beginner Course.

She came with a vision: she wanted to learn how to sew and make fashionable styles for herself, sew for her family and do mending and alterations for her family.

Her machine was a few years old but had never been out of the box. She saw the post, booked the course and by week 3 came to class feeling really satisfied and proud that she had taken up her son's school trousers! Just brilliant. That meant a lot to Andrea.

She had wanted to make a waistcoat as it's one of her wardrobe staples. She traced a pattern, made a toile,and cut her cloth. A beautiful floral fabric.
Andrea added sleeves. I showed how to do this. She made a pattern and gathered the threads. And made them detachable!

Wow! In just 18 hours. Over 6 weeks.

She's signed up already for the Intermediate course which starts this Thursday, and I can't wait to see her next project.

Our ONE DAY sewing workshops then run right through until the end of November. These are our final teaching dates of 2026 (as we have industry training and design commissions pending!), so if you have been meaning to learn how to sew, make that dress, or finally master your machine, this is your moment.

We relocated to Portadown in May 2026 after being based in Belfast since I graduated back in 1996.

When we arrived at our new location we weren't just relocating a business..our new location needed a complete overhaul as it hadn't changed since it was built in the 60's

The living room has 2 gold velvet sofas. The ones I made the new quilts for, and just finished hand sewing this morning.

I really love how warm they make the room feel now. A complete contrast to how it looked a year ago.

My patchwork quilts start with collecting fabrics. Months or maybe years gathering golds, browns, velvets, linens, silks.

Only when I get time to set aside do I start. These are for our sofas which are mustard velvet.

I bought no new fabrics or wadding to make this. The only thing I bought was an Espresso brown Dylon dye to turn a fuchsia pink linen brownish.

I do t own a fancy quilting machine or any fancy feet, I sew it all on my Bernina 1008.

I really enjoyed this slow process of sewing.

Tomorrow morning I have 2 hours of hand stitching to complete and then I get them on the sofas.

A beautiful antique Wilcox and Gibbs machine is fully working again creating a perfect chain stitch.

What a pleasure to test stitch this machine for our new client who travelled the whole way from Buncrana to bring her loved family heirloom to us.

After sewing horse blankets it had seized up, and then spent some time in a barn.

Now it is working again.
