We are born natural nose breathers 👃🏼
It helps us feed, sleep, and self-regulate. So when a baby or toddler is constantly breathing through their mouth, it’s often a sign something needs attention.
Why does mouth breathing happen?
• Nasal congestion (from colds, allergies)
• Oral restrictions
• High or narrow palate
• Tension in jaw, neck, or diaphragm
• Habitual patterns
Why it matters:
Chronic mouth breathing can impact:
• Feeding (breastfeeding or bottle feeding)
• Facial development & oral posture
•Body posture, often leading to forward head position, rounded shoulders and tension
• Sleep quality and oxygen levels
• Enlarged adenoids
✨ Reminder: Mouth breathing is not a cute quirk. It’s a sign your baby might need some support.
I use Craniosacral Therapy to gently release tension in the oral and body structures, helping improve breathing, feeding, an overall well-being.
