We’re on Dragons’ Den. Next Thursday, 8pm

We’ve been hiding this big secret for many months.

Ever since the day our founder Sam got a "No Caller ID" phone call.

It was either a scam or a prank call from his niece. He answered anyway.

It was the BBC asking us to pitch Yes Friends to a panel of multi-millionaires on national TV.

So next Thursday, you’ll see us trying to convince the Dragons to join us on our mission to transform the fashion industry.

You'll have to watch to find out what happened.

Thursday 10th Sept, 8pm. Get it in your diaries 🗓️

Hey friends, our little brand has got a subtly new look. Hopefully
you can tell it’s still us.

We deliberately haven’t suddenly shaved off a beard that’s been on our chin all our entire adult life. To us it feels more like we’ve finally stopped cutting our own hair in a mirror – messing about with type and spacing and other fancy design things – and went to an actual salon.

Big shout out to Jay a.k.a. who brought this project to life 🧡

Don't do this in a heatwave...

Today, we’re launching new colours with names like plum and olive and chestnut. If it sounds like we’re describing an orchard, it’s because we got lost in one in Somerset.

Unfortunately no-one told Somerset it was time to photograph our autumn-winter collection.

It was 30+ degrees centigrade. The humidity must have been close to 100%.

In the first shot here you see our models Isaac and Tina experiencing real joy. Maybe because they finally stripped down to T-shirts.

They’d just spent a scorching day in hoodies and winter jackets.

One silly problem in fashion is you're always out of step with the season. In winter, you're sampling summer clothes and in summer you're shooting for winter.

So Tina and Isaac did their best to pretend this summer heatwave was in fact a beautiful autumn day – like they were comfortable and not sweating buckets.

We weren’t making it easy. To get the perfect autumn-winter shots, we were saying things like: “Can you layer a hoodie and a jacket?” and “Can you tuck that T-shirt in?” (for a cleaner shot and no airflow) and “For the next shot can you zip up the jacket… and can you do the top button up?”

Eventually they were back in T-shirts and showing us how to look good next to a Land Rover.

At the end of the day, we did apologetically ask Isaac to put on a hoodie and start running for one more in-motion shot. After we got the shot, the man kept running. As if he was happy to get even warmer after wearing winter clothes in a heatwave. We have no explanation for Isaac.

Both he and Tina did an amazing job showing off our new collection and we’re very grateful. Same goes to Sonny and Olive who modelled in an air conditioned studio one day later. They have no idea how lucky they were.

Go grab our new colours in our online orchard.

This was the first time we’d ever met you in real life.

That’s right. We weren’t just sending you DMs or talking on customer support. We were actually having in-person interactions. It almost felt like coming out of covid.

And five years after we launched Yes Friends, it’s a relief to know our customers aren’t just a figment of our imagination.

We were throwing a pop-up event to celebrate a graphic T-shirt collaboration with Left Handed Giant in Bristol – a B-Corp and living wage employer. They make cracking ale.

And some of you travelled pretty far – coming all the way from Oxford and Cardiff and Malmesbury.

If you’d been there, you would have got your first glimpse of our new limited edition graphic T-shirts.

The graphics are made by James Yeo a generous LHG designer.  It was James’ birthday last Saturday, but he made time to hang out at our pop up, show us around the brewery and, crucially, let us cool off our sweaty bodies in the big fridge where they chill all their b**r.

Based on our original bestselling organic Tee, they all feature Leftie, the mascot of LHG.

The first is pretty minimalist.

The second has a dreamlike off-to-the-pub scene.

And the third shows you what you might see if you have one too many.

For people looking forward to a pint this summer – or handing a few out – these limited edition T-shirts are freshly brewed and ready for summer.

Today we’re releasing what many of you were crying out for in our survey a couple of weeks ago (we think one of you might have actually been crying).

“Please make more linen shorts. They are my favorite piece of clothing I have ever owned!”

“More shorts!”

“I want the linen shorts 😭 “

We’re here to stem your tears – releasing three kinds of soon-to-be-your-favourite shorts: relaxed linen, relaxed twill and tailored linen. All cut & sewn by garment workers paid good wages in a solar assisted factory.

As a mysterious reviewer known as S. told us, “Super cool, super comfy, so light and soft…. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!?”

Go get them at https://yesfriends.co

Today marks a big day for Yes Friends, we’re launching five new dresses. You read that right – five(!). It feels like we've come a long way since our first black and white tees, five years ago.

Not only are we re-releasing last year’s Linen EcoVero™️ dress, now in French Blue and Black (we’ve not touched the shape because you loved it)...

And not only a little black dress, known as the “LBD” in some circles, the kind of circles that Audrey Hepburn would have winked at in 1961 while giving her little black dress a little swish…

But also…

An organic cotton, seersucker, pattern dress in two colours.

While we’re not a haircare brand, this dress has the kind of voluminous, milky smooth style that Pantene Pro V. can only dream about.

All five releases can be dressed up or down. All have pockets. And all are cut & sewn by garment workers paid good wages.
