Hi, I'm Jen, mum to Raffi and author of my forthcoming children's book The ARFID-a-saurus. I have set up a Gofundme to help bring to life my new children's books.

Why ARFID is so hard 💔

Because eating & drinking is the basis for life & you never imagined your child would struggle to do that 💔

Because you can care, support, research, advocate, but you can't 'just make them eat'.

Because it's not understood.

What NOT to say to a child with ARFID.

"Just have some more"
"It's no different from yesterday"
"You can't have pudding if you don't"
"I'm not wasting it!"
"You must sit to the table to eat"
"You ate it last week"
"You're just being fussy"

All of these negative words will simply do damage to a child who is struggling already. ARFID is NOT their choice.

They need, love, care, support, advocacy, understanding, time, peace, patience and to be heard.

So I hope in writing this book, it will bring some hope and positivity to other families. It has been written out of our lived experience and our love in abundance. 💓💓
