Happy Monday everyone.

The last few weeks I have been reflecting on my brand and where I would like to eventually take my business.

Upon reflection, I have decided that I will no longer be offering off loom artworks for the foreseeable future. Because of this, I have some stock leftover so I am offering up to 50% on all artworks! So check it out if you’ve been eyeing up a piece for a while!

Feels like yesterday that I was anxiously counting down the hours until the first showing back in January! Already made so much progress since filming and even the showing!

I have a studio, new collaborations, new followers…

And just like that, this piece is ready for its new home.

I’m used to working with so many colours in one go, however it was a pleasant change for me to explore a colour scheme that was more subtle.

On to the next exciting project! Stay tuned for that one…

Throwback to this drawing I did of back in 2019.

Sometimes I forget that as a creative, I’m not just limited to my weaving profession, I love to draw and always have since I was a child. I tend to get so wrapped up in the idea that I have to stick to one lane that the other lanes tend to get dusted over and forgotten about!

Sometimes I feel by drawing or doing things that wouldn’t necessarily contribute to my business almost guilty that I’m spending time doing it, but it’s not the case and I need to unlearn those type of behaviours!

This one drawing alone opened so many new doors for me even when that was never my intention. Maybe it can open some doors into my weaving career too…

Monday madness!

Current WIP on the large loom, a commission for a friend of mine, this design seems to be very popular, not that I’m complaining because I think this one is my favourite too!

I would say happy Monday but I’m having a nightmare of a day and it’s only 2pm, my bobbin winder is knackered so I need to wait for my new one and the internet in my studio keeps dropping out meaning my progress is slow and my patience is being tested 🤦‍♀️😂

Won’t be long before I say farewell to my very first collection that I designed 🥲🥲

What a month it has been! Probably the most challenging yet for my career. JESS ANNE is facing a lot of difficulties now truth be told, impacted by the cost of living and also my most recent mental state means that my business is facing the hardest challenges it’s ever had to right now!

So I’m a bit late on the post but it was over a year ago now that I filmed for !

It’s still a bit of a pinch me moment to be honest that I was on this series, and I met some of the most amazing people during my time on set! If you haven’t seen my grid already, there is a post calling out for series 2, so if you feel like you could also use some help with starting you’re own craft business, definitely have a look!

My journey has been a rollercoaster since filming, I have to admit there have been some real highs and some real lows. Starting a business just before lockdown was one of the hardest things I’ve faced in my life, whilst simultaneously battling with imposter syndrome, dyslexia and anxiety, it’s not been easy 🫠🫠🫠

I’m hoping to keep continue pushing JESS ANNE forward as much as I can, even though some days I question why I do what I do, but then I have the days where I feel on top of the world! Conflict much? 🥲

Im not too sure what I’m trying to get at in this post, I tend to ramble… oh well…

Happy bank holiday all!

Just wanted to reach out on here and say thank you to everyone who reached out with lovely words and advice, for those who didn’t see my story a couple of days ago, I was on the verge of a breakdown (which very much happened after the posts🫠) because I was really struggling to get good photographs of my work…

Starting a business especially at the time where it seems like everything is going up and up and up is INCREDIBLY challenging, having to manage every single aspect of a small business like the marketing, social media, admin, designing, making, posting, photography (the list goes on) is so overwhelming that I had a bit of wobble this week.

But TADDAAA ⭐️ after a cry, glass of wine, a good sleep and some encouraging conversations, I managed to get the smaller cardwindings photographed and edited. Now, they’re not the best, I know that, but I have to tell the inner perfectionist that it’s okay that they’re not perfect, because I’m not a photographer and photos are better then no photos!

I’ll be listing these along side the larger ones this week on the website, I’m excited to finally be bringing a new collection of artworks out, seems like a while since I’ve listed new things!

Anyways, I’m off to try to enjoy the rest of my Sunday before cracking on again!

So although I’ve been struggling with motivation recently, I have been really enjoying creating card windings right now, they’re definitely stacked up!

Once I can focus on finding the energy to photograph them all (I don’t enjoy the photography, I’m terrible at it)😅then I will upload them all on the website!

Although I think I’m going to be pretty gutted parting with some of them 😮‍💨😂

Happy bank holiday!

It’s horrible weather where I am based today so I thought I’d cheer myself up by looking at my gorgeous shade cards from ! Wish I could just buy every single one but I think my shelves will break!

Have to be honest it’s been slow for me the last few weeks, the motivation has been dipping and the creative block has been real! Finding the mojo again to get back in to it one day at a time!
