And it’s so true. This week I’m on holiday in my own. Huge thing today, especially as a woman travelling alone and in recovery. But it’s not brave, it’s freedom. Freedom of choice today. Not once have I thought .. oooh that would be nice, or just one, no one will know… today I am free.

And biggest bonus is you get a great table in a restaurant when you are alone!!

Embrace it, sober living is incredible.

Feelings…. The terror of all people in recovery. Let’s discuss feelings. At the moment I’m feeling Pride, Terror, Failure, Courage, Sadness, Happiness, Relief, Euphoria, Devastation, Loss of Identity, Hope, … it’s insane in my head right now. But it’s installed in me to just be honest, share these feelings .

Do you identify ??

Tonight, Sunday 9th August 2026, at 8pm GMT, the Clare Haggas website officially closed.

And I don’t think I will ever quite have the words to describe how it felt to know that this marked the closing of a chapter on such a huge part of my life.

A chapter filled with paintings, scarves, designs, exhibitions, shows, incredible highs, difficult moments and, above all, so much love.

Every piece I created carried a little part of my story. To have watched those pieces leave my studio and become part of your stories, your homes and your lives has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

To every customer, collector, stockist, friend and supporter who bought something, wore something, shared something, visited a show, sent a kind message or simply followed my journey — thank you.

Your loyalty, kindness and encouragement have meant more to me than I could ever put into words.

All website orders will be lovingly fulfilled this week, and I’ll make sure every final order reaches you. Thank you to my amazing team, their loyalty through a difficult time, and their unwavering support - you know who you are!

So, as I close this chapter, I simply want to say one final, heartfelt thank you.

Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for believing in my work.
And thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey.

It has been an absolute privilege, and something I will carry with me always. 🤍

With all my love,
Clare x

Morning everyone. We have been deluged with orders and as grateful as I am for your love, please could you be patient. We sent an email yesterday asking you to consider our wonderful Sue who is working round the clock to get your orders out.

For so long, I believed success meant more.

More work. More growth. More recognition. More pressure, and s the years went on, I realised I was chasing a version of success that was slowly costing me the very thing I’d fought so hard to protect.

My recovery.

Recovery isn’t something you achieve and never think about again. It’s something you choose, every single day. It has to come before everything else.

We live in a world that celebrates more. Bigger homes. Bigger businesses. Bigger ambitions. But rarely do we celebrate the courage it takes to say, “Enough.”

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is choose a quieter, healthier life.

If you’re walking away from something that’s costing you your wellbeing, your relationships, your recovery, or yourself, you’re not failing.

You’re choosing a future.

And that’s a story worth telling ❤️

As I sit and look back through these photos, I’m reminded that what we’ve created over the years was always so much more than scarves, ties or clothing.

It was confidence. It was connection. It was art that became part of people’s lives.

Seeing so many of you wandering around Ragley Hall wearing Clare Haggas pieces was incredibly emotional. Every corner we turned, there seemed to be another familiar print, another beautifully dressed customer, another smiling face who came over to say hello, share a memory, or simply wish us well.

To know that my artwork has become part of your race days, country shows, celebrations, family moments and everyday lives is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’ve always wanted to create pieces that helped people feel beautifully dressed, wrapped in art, and completely themselves. Looking around The Game Fair one last time, it really hit me just how many of you have taken those pieces on your own journeys - and also how these slithers of silk have appeared on so many of our best dressed ladies over the years.

And of course, I’ll still be here on my Instagram account Clare Haggas and on my personal Facebook account, so I can still see you all in your beautiful ensembles - just tag me 🖤

Thank you for wearing my designs with such pride. Thank you for supporting independent British art. Thank you for every kind word, every hug, every story, and every memory you’ve shared with me over the years.

I’ve been asked so many times why I’ve made the decision to close Clare Haggas Fine Art & Designs, so I wanted to share it in my own words.

This hasn’t been one single decision, but a combination of things that have led me here.

• I’ve overdone it. I’m burnt out, and I have to put my recovery and myself first.

• The loss of our British manufacturers means the business would need to be completely remodelled to remain commercially viable.

• The theft of my artwork at Cheltenham Festival earlier this year was absolutely heartbreaking, and it became the catalyst that made me realise something had to change.

• I never get time to paint anymore, and I’ve really missed that part of who I am.

• I’m looking forward to slowing down, finding inspiration again, getting creative, and simply painting again. That thought fills me with excitement.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, my artwork and my business over the years. It has meant more than you’ll ever know 🖤
