After finishing the last Christmas present for my niece the sewing machines have been put away until the New Year. I’ve been a little quiet on the sewing front. Every spare moment, me and my family are doing everything we can to help fundraise for Ralph.

Ralph is my cousin’s son, he’s 3years old and has a rare liver cancer. He needs a triple organ transplant and has been told the US is the best option of getting that transplant before the cancer spreads. That transplant could cure him of this awful disease, but they have to raise the funds themselves for the operation, the medicines and the care he would need. It’s an insane amount of money.

Ralph’s mum and dad are doing what we would all do, literally anything they can. They’ve set up a go fund me and shared Ralphs story on the news, in the papers on the radio in a desperate bid to raise £1m that would cover the cost of Ralph having a transplant in the US.

They’re nearly half way to what they need. We can’t stop trying.

They’re waiting. Not waiting for the shout of ‘it’s time to go to school’ like my boys do when they’re sitting on this sofa. These are the dolls I made to represent 3 of over 230 children waiting to live, who are on the organ donor register. These 3 dolls have now left my sofa and are in the world hoping to do good by raising awareness of this campaign.

One of the children they represent is Ralph, the most fun loving and beautiful little boy, my cousin’s 3 year old son, who is waiting. And it’s heartbreaking.
I know it’s hard to think about, hard to talk about, but please consider this.
