It’s suddenly feeling very September~ish. It’s not just the weather and back to school but I’ve noticed that people are wearing warmer tones, browns and bronzes, sweaters around the shoulders, deep red ballet flats ~ so I’ve started playing around with autumnal styling of summer sourced antique and vintage treasures.

What do you think? Anything shake your autumnal tree? 🍁Lots more where these gems come from. I’ll be back to it in earnest later this month but in the meantime do let me know if you’d like more details on any of these glorious vintage pieces.

Happy September Saturday 🍂

A postcard from Falmouth ~ Wish you were here! 💛💙♥️
If you are ever down this way (and I’d really recommend a visit), these are the spots I’d recommend for art, homeware, antiques and good food. We’ve been visiting for years as my in laws live here and my sister in law and family live in Mawnan Smith, a pretty village on the Helford River. She came to university here, never left and now teaches at the same university!

There is plenty to see and do around the town but you must visit the gardens and pubs along the Helford as well as taking the ferry to Flushing and St Mawes for excellent coastal walks, shopping and food.

A new find this visit was 33 Old High Street, Falmouth ~ delicious food, friendly service and a definite must try destination.

As ever, I’ll be sorry to leave when we head home on Sunday. It’s been a true tonic and a much needed rest. Until next time…💛💙♥️

Only every other minute! 😆 looking forward to a sourcing trip tomorrow ~ anyone else heading that way? Anything in particular you’d like me to look out for?

Happy Saturday. Ours consists of cleaning the kitchen after the new wooden floors were laid this week and trying (probably in vain! 😝) to declutter!

Look at the detail on this exquisite antique folk art windmill. The little red fish! 🎏The tree! 🌳The little doors with their red handles! 🚪

Sourced in Portugal last summer, it has been enjoying life on our book shelves where it’s been much admired. Time for someone else to live it as much as we have.

I was told that is from the 1930s. It’s in fabulous condition with its stretched and painted canvas sails, corrugated roof and wood and papier mache body. It would be fabulous for a child’s bedroom or perhaps in a house by the sea. It’s an absolute joy. The pops of red really add something. Superb details.

In other news, we still can’t use the kitchen as we don’t have a floor and the rest of the house is a tip because of it. It’s making taking photos, or doing just about anything, really tricky!!

Folk art windmill measures: 24cm x 22cm 15cm wide approx.
Price: £60 plus uk p&p £7.99

~ Available ~ A beautiful and scarce early John & William Ridgway scalloped~edge plate in the ‘ Portland Basket’ pattern. An example of this stunning plate sits within the Victoria and Albert Museum collection in a monochrome colour way.

The plate is in excellent condition. The colours are wonderfully vibrant. It’s transfer printed and finished with a hand painted overlay. It dates to the Regency period, circa 1815. A remarkable find at over 200 years old. Superb displayed on the wall as part of a collection.

Even the back stamp is attractive with its wreath of leaves and flowers. Marked Opaque China JWR .

Price: £49 plus uk p&p £5.99

Please DM to purchase.

~ AVAILABLE ~ Home from a wonderful weekend with friends in Suffolk. Fun, food, golf & laughter ~ A true tonic for the soul before more medical appointments with mum this week. Still answering DMs and popping up with beautiful antiques and vintage treasures when I can.

Like this fabulous pair of vintage Fitz & Floyd
Staffordshire style spotted dogs. They are 1980s rather than 1880s but still a fabulous addition to your mantel piece or dresser and a lovely large pair standing at 21cm tall.

Perfect condition with a vibrant blue base. Very handsome and somewhat regal in their stance.

Measures: 21cm
Price: £89 the pair plus UK p&p £7.99

Please DM to purchase
