Life is a journey and that’s the beauty of it. I can feel the meaning of it more deeply today than 20 years ago.
This summer I had an interview with a journalist; she asked me what was the journey that brought me to do coaching? It seems like a really simple question but it really made me think about my path.
First I thought: What is the link between coaching and being a designer? Both require creativity, great attention to details, great skills of adaption, resilience and the list could go on.
But I realised that the common thread was… the ᴛʀᴇᴀsᴜʀᴇ ʜᴜɴᴛ!
Yes, the treasure hunt, as odd as it may sounds.
Let me explain.
I’ve always had a passion for Tᖇᗴᗩᔕᑌᖇᗴ ᕼᑌᑎT. From my love of making collections when I was a child… to doing inspiration research for Louis Vuitton after graduating from college.
My life revolved around treasure hunting for ideas in fleas markets and on my travels, looking for rare images in old libraries… to creating new portfolio of ideas each season for LV Studio. If this is not treasure hunting then what is it? 😉
So what about coaching?
For me, it’s all about treasure hunt too because I see each client as the creator of a treasure box ❣️
I love to dive into their world to understand their portfolio. ꧁ A portfolio is like a treasure box ꧂
And my job is to spot the best pieces among their treasure box and to help my clients to present them at their best.
It’s all visual of course but it’s also key how they can build an emotional bridge with their interviewer.
Visualise this: The treasure at one end of the rainbow (their portfolio) and on the other end of the rainbow, the company of their dream.
✨ That is the ᗰᗩᘜIᑕᗩᒪ ᖇᗴᑕIᑭᗴ for being asked to create more treasures for the company of their dreams ✨
I believe every designer has a true passion for something that the world needs and that it’s just a matter of being able to present it to the right person. That when the magic happens!
Are you ready for this?
