Charlie brought his handmade vintage Wayfarers into us because he loved the frames but wanted to update his prescription and the style.

We fitted them with new lenses and we think they have really brought these frames back to life.

So, if you’ve got a pair of frames you love but your lenses need updating, drop us a message or pop in to see the team.

THE SUN IS HAVING A FITTING.

On Wednesday 12 August, the Moon will slip rather dramatically in front of the Sun—giving the UK its deepest partial solar eclipse since 1999.

Here in Durham:

◐ Eclipse begins: 6.11pm
◐ Maximum eclipse: 7.07pm
◐ Eclipse ends: 8.01pm

Now for the important optical detail…

Your sunglasses—however dark, expensive or exceptionally well chosen—are not suitable for looking directly at the Sun.

To watch safely, use genuine eclipse viewers conforming to ISO 12312-2 from a reputable supplier. They can be worn over your prescription glasses. Never look through binoculars, cameras or telescopes unless they have a correctly fitted specialist solar filter.

He even sold a pair of sunglasses to this lovely customer.
