World Book Day. 📚It’s no secret that I love a good read. I’m in Northfields today, with 6th December, repping small and handmade business. Come and find some amazing gifts all handmade and designed locally. Here’s the thing….We work hard all year making stock, going out and about, lugging our merchandise from one fair to another. We love what we do, and nothing makes us happier when we meet our customer and make a sale. It’s so special the connection between maker and buyer. Support small business today wherever you may be, visit your local craft fair, pop in to your local baker, or shop in a small independent store. This little world of small business keeps the human connection alive, those small conversations we have when making a transaction can honestly brighten your day It’s not just about money, it’s about investing your £ with real live humans who lovingly make the product, and appreciate every sale. Your £ will go back into keeping this human connection alive, and us small businesses afloat for another year. It’s tough out there and every penny spent with us indies counts. Even helps! Always supporting uk based makers if I can, this is the best bakers twine and made in England , James Lever are the sole manufacturer of cotton twines. Made from biodegradable cotton, they have been in manufacture since 1856. From the spinning and spooling to the design and print of the label Everlasto supports a plethora of British businesses. It may cost me a little more, but it’s the highest quality, and I’m supporting the last manufacturer of this twine in the UK. Plus they do my fave colour, Eton Blue! Only the best for my customers!

🎄Listen up everyone. 🎄It’s Christmas where we all start spending on our loved ones. Small makers toil away all year making, showing, dragging our trollies of beautiful hand made goods from one fair to another, setting up our stall, selling, taking down, going home, unpacking, making, creating, doing the books, admin, online sales, maintaining a website, marketing packing, and so much more. Then we do it all over again, and again whatever the weather in order to earn a living. Talented small makers everywhere are beavering away because we love what we do and want to bring something original to you. We are not working on big overheads, we are not getting stuff mass produced at a small cost overseas, we are all making locally somewhere near you, and selling on your doorstep. If you want to find original wonderful craft, art and prints created with love and care, you need to get out there and spend a few quid with your local market or craft fair and support us! Christmas is the make or break for a lot of small business. We need you to come out and support us! We love what we do and want to keep on creating. 🎨Please shop small this Christmas, a few pounds spent locally feeds back into your community, helping other local businesses keep going. It’s a chain folks and we are an important link. Don’t break the chain…It’s no surprise really that big business is constantly copying small business ideas. I’ve lost count of the time I have seen stories of artists work being literally copied, and up on those massive overseas website for a fraction of the cost. Then the small maker has to spend all their time getting the fraudulent goods taken down. It’s a battle. ‘Creativity takes courage’ Matisse once said, but we also need a few quid in our pockets to sustain that. This country has amazing creatives who change the world, so support small.
We all appreciate so much each penny spent with us, it goes back into our little coffers so we can keep on producing original work. Shop Local. Shop small. It really does make a difference. 🎄Merry Christmas.

I love meeting new people and customers, so pop along and see me at my upcoming shows. I love a good chat and it’s great to find out about people, and their interests and passions. It often sparks off ideas for me too. What a wonderful shopping evening. 🎁We can always count on our wonderful West London community to come along and see us. ❤️Visitors old and new turned out to support local and hand produced indie businesses.🎁Forever grateful for the loyalty of my wonderful customers who made this such a great event. ⭐️Don’t ever change Northfields, you all created a warm a fuzzy feeling of support and generosity of spirit. ⭐️Merry Christmas all! ⭐️Thanks to all the talented small makers who showed at this event hosted by and made it so memorable. And of course I couldn’t resist a few treats…the best needle craftsman for the needle case, for the amazing tasty sweets, best in the West, and to my fellow stall holder Jonsey who is a beekeeper and gathers the most wonderful honey from his hives on local allotments . Truly local and handmade ⭐️
