I'm honoured to share that I have won first place for this year's competition! To be recognised amongst so many talented artists has truly been a privilege for me, and I'm incredible grateful for this opportunity. This piece took hours and hours of work, it's one I'm delighted to share with you all:)

Explanation below:

“Aleph,” an embroidered artwork, reflects the Oneness and Kingship of Hashem, as expressed in the Shema.
The form of the Aleph—composed of a Yud in the upper corner reaching heavenward, a lower Yud grounded in earth, and a diagonal Vav connecting the two—symbolizes the unity between the spiritual and the physical.
The upper Yud alludes to Hashem’s infinite presence, while the lower reflects our place in the physical world, joined through a connecting line that represents the bond between them.

The top internal hoop represents a life guided by Torah practice, expressing this unity as something not only abstract but lived, with Hashem’s light finding a tangible, all-encompassing expression on Shabbos.

Drawing on the imagery of a “tree of life,” the work speaks to rootedness, growth, and the continual striving for closeness to Hashem. Together, these threads—both literal and symbolic—bring the composition into a single, unified whole, reflecting the deeper idea of Oneness that the Aleph itself represents: complete unity—Echad.
