Today, on Armistice Day, we pause to honour those who gave everything for peace and freedom. The echoes of the past, the fallen who sacrificed their lives in hope of a better tomorrow, remind us of the immense cost of conflict. Their stories, their bravery, and their dreams are woven into the fabric of our history, teaching us lessons that must not be forgotten.
But as we reflect on this solemn day, it's disheartening to see how little we have learned. Across the world, conflicts still rage. Divisions, fuelled by hatred and misunderstanding, tear at the fabric of our global community. The same lessons that were paid for with so much blood are still being learnedβand often ignoredβin the face of war and discord.
Armistice Day is more than just remembrance; it's a call to action. It's a moment to reflect on what we can do, not just to remember the past but to shape a better, more peaceful future. Let's honour their memory not just in silence, but in the way we treat each other, in the stands we take, and in the unity we foster. Because if the past has taught us anything, it's that peace is fragile, and it's worth every effort to protect.
Today, let's remember. And let's pledge to do better.
