Francesca Lobb Jewellery Handmade contemporary jewellery and personal possessions. Shop collection via: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FrancescaLobb

With a passion for making, a keen eye for intricate detail and a curiosity for pre-owned items, the work I create focuses on how an object evokes personal comfort for its owner. I question how the design of an object can entice an individual to explore a piece and form a personal attachment to the item. Taking inspiration from everyday objects, I create a range of personal possessions, some of which are wearable and others that are merely companions to our everyday lives.

Manchester Jewellers Week "I want to be Adorned" takes place for the very first time this month throughout Manchester from 10th - 16th September. Lots of jewellery events and exhibitions are taking place across the city and I'm very excited to have a capsule collection featured in "24carat Party People" as part of Manchester Jewellers Network responding to Manchester's iconic music scene taking place at Manchester Art Gallery shop. The extended exhibition will run from Tuesday 8th September until Sunday 4th October.

Here's a little sneak peek at my pieces that will be featured in the exhibition responding to a line in Oasis's iconic track "Little By Little"...

My brother got married!! ❤️
And I was lucky enough to make the wedding rings. Every commission is special but when it is for family it hits even harder. Here is a little look at the wedding rings that I made for my brother and sister-in-law.

Congratulations again Tom Lobb and what a gorgeous wedding! Thank you again for asking me to make these sentimental tokens of your love (and for the plug in your speech 😆) it's so special knowing you will wear these every day and treasure them forever!

Excited to announce I'll have two new pieces featured as part of Manchester Jewellery Week "I Wanna Be Adorned" taking place 10th - 16th September.

As part of a collective with fellow members of Manchester Jewellers Network, you will find my two new pieces made exclusively for the showcase "24 Carat Party People". Each jeweller has created a capsule collection responding to Manchester's iconic music scene. The collection will be exhibited and available to purchase at Manchester Art Gallery Shop from 8th September - 4th October:

"24 Carat Party People” at Manchester Art Gallery brings together a diverse collective of eleven contemporary jewellers from Manchester Jewellers Network to translate the city’s radical musical heritage into wearable art. Independent makers bridge the gap between subcultural soundwaves and tangible adornment, juxtaposing the gritty, moody, industrial minimalism of late-70s post-punk (Joy Division, New Order) with the baggy, euphoric, kaleidoscopic swagger of the Madchester era (The Stone Roses, Chemical Brothers). Through sharp geometric metalwork and unexpected textures, the artists immortalise these sonic rhythms, capturing the iconic energy of the legendary Manchester music scene using everything from precious metals, vitreous enamels, and gemstones to glass, 3D printing, and vinyl.

As well as making Jess and Oliver's wedding rings for their wedding back in May I was also lucky enough to create another special ring for Jess gifted to her from her parents ❤️
After creating a bespoke twisted diamond ring for her other daughter Beth last year (scroll back to see that lovely piece) mum Mandy wanted to create another special ring, this time for her eldest daughter Jess for her wedding day. The design was inspired by a pair of Mandy's old gold earrings set with an oval garnet that we used directly in the piece creating the face of the signet. I then used the filigree design details as inspiration to create the rest of the ring design using 9ct yellow gold belonging to Mandy and Jess' grandma's and auntie. The four filigree curls on the sides of the ring were made using the exact gold wire that was left over from creating her sister's twisted diamond ring the year before. It's always so special creating such sentimental pieces for my customers and extra special when I know the recipient and can watch them open the piece and enjoy wearing it each day! Thanks again to Mandy for coming to me to create this gorgeous piece for my best friend Jess! A piece to cherish forever...

A selection of my work is currently on display at Arteria Shop as part of their summer exhibition 'Stay'. Many pieces from my 'Attach' and 'Contain' collections, including my signature matchsticks and my increasingly popular paperclip jewellery, can be browsed and purchased from them throughout the exhibition running throughout the summer until September.

Here is a little bit about the showcase as a whole, which features a number of talented makers creating contemporary craft, design and art:

'Stay' a while and keep the best moments with you
Summer Exhibition at Arteria

It doesn't have to be far. Sometimes it's a favourite bench at the end of your road at the right time of evening. Sometimes it's a square in a city you only visited once, on the other side of the world. Either way, places like these make the best memories, and at Arteria you can visit them again.

This summer, our exhibition Stay invites you to slow down and remember the special moments. Across jewellery, prints, ceramics, and other contemporary arts and crafts, independent artists bring the full sensory life of summer memories into one collection. Let a piece of jewellery catch the light and carry you back to a warm summer evening. Move through the gallery where colour, texture and form take you on a trip down a memory lane, reminding you of those precious moments where time stood still.

The first-floor gallery space is open from 10am - 5pm, Tuesday - Saturday.

Some afternoons stay with you long after they're over. We'd love for this to be one of them.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be celebrating the wedding of two of my longest standing friends 🤍🖤 not only was I honoured to be involved in their big day as a bridesmaid but I was also asked to create their wedding rings. I can't explain how special it is creating pieces that will be treasured forever for the people I love. Thank you again and . Congratulations on the beginning of the rest of your lives together! 🥂

A closer look at the rainbow scattered stacking rings and the different ways they can be worn...

Creating the rings as individual pieces means that Rebecca can wear the rings in various combinations and also pass each ring down to her three granddaughters in the future. It also gives us the option to add even more rings to the stack further down the line!

How would you wear them? A juicy colourful stack altogether or perhaps individually, partnered with the plain textured bands?

Rainbow scattered stacking rings 🌈💍

I finished this commission for a lovely returning customer last week. Taking her old gold rings and a couple of existing gemstones she had, she asked if I could create a design that would also incorporate her 3 granddaughters birthstones, Aquamarine, Peridot and Moonstone, with the thought of passing a ring down to each of them in the future.

The 9ct yellow gold ring stack includes two plain organic bands and three organic rings with pebble settings featuring an Amethyst and Aquamarine, synthetic Ruby and Peridot, Sapphire and Moonstone.

It's such a pleasure knowing these rings will be enjoyed and treasured by several people and passed down through the family!
