After the recent election results, and because I’ve currently got a broken toe and can’t do the normal things that bring me joy, I’ve been at a bit of a loose end today.

And by “loose end”, I mean cross. Fed up. Slightly feral. Deeply unimpressed. Hobbling around the house like a very angry Tiny Tim.

So naturally, I’ve made some new designs.

Because if Reform are going to keep selling fear as common sense, scapegoating migrants as policy, and punching down as patriotism, then the least I can do is put the facts on a sweatshirt and make it everyone’s problem.

F**k Farage. F**k Reform.

We’ve seen this script before.
We know where it leads.
And we’re not staying quiet.

Challenge myths. Share facts. Wear the message.

We were so excited to be back at Margate Old Town Market but I’ve had a tiny mishap.

My little toe had a fight with the fireplace.

The fireplace won.

So sadly we won’t be there today, but please still go if you were planning to. The sun will be shining, the market will be lovely, and small businesses still need your gorgeous faces.

We’ll be back next week, slightly more hobble-y but no less enthusiastic, and we’ll have Mandy Darling with us too, bringing her beautiful, one-of-a-kind crochet pieces.

Sorry to miss you today, see you next week! x

Not new. Just not wasted.
12 deadstock oversized sweatshirts.
No extra production. No unnecessary waste.
Moving away from print-on-demand and back to making things properly — by hand, with intention.
Same message.
Better way of doing it. 🩶

I tried to tell myself the Gisèle Pelicot case was an anomaly.

That her husband and the dozens of men involved were some kind of rare, unthinkable exception. A pocket of cruelty. A level of depravity far removed from everyday life.

I think, like a lot of people, I wanted to protect myself from the truth.

But it’s not isolated.

It’s men.

Yes, not all men.
But enough to be frightening.

Enough that it could be the ones we trust.
The ones who promise to love us.
The ones handing us a cup of tea.

The “rape academy” story isn’t isolated. This blog explores how everyday misogyny builds, why silence matters, and what happens when it goes unchecked.

This week I’ve been rethinking a lot, not just how I print, but what I print on in the first place.

I’ve gone back and forth with direct-to-print, but the more I sit with it, the more it doesn’t quite line up. Higher prices, new garments being created, and feeling a bit removed from the actual making.

Last week I talked about 'Doing what I can with what I have' and this feels like a natural step from that.

So I’m shifting things.

Less new. More second-hand. More making with what already exists.

It won’t be the easiest route, but it feels like the right one.

If you’re interested in the process (and the thinking behind it), you can read it here: https://protestinprint.com/blogs/news/protest-in-print-less-new-more-meaning

So I think what I am saying is - new old sweaters on the way.

Why I’m choosing upcycled and second-hand clothing over new production, a slow fashion approach to sustainability, craftsmanship, and reducing waste.

How inspiring is this woman. Janet Willoner, 81, has grown over 4,000 trees since 2019 and donated them to conservation projects, inspired by her grandchildren and concern for the planet.

I love how she describes what’s she is doing as a drop in the ocean. It’s easy to think what we do is just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean is made of drops.

If each of us does what we can, with what we have, those drops become a wave.
And that wave becomes change.
