A real privilege to design a limited edition concert print for the legendary Colin Blunstone (singer of The Zombies), for his concert at the Union Chapel in London tonight. (with special guest Jesse Lynn Madera) His trademark silky smooth voice remains very much intact, even at 80 years young - be sure to grab any opportunity you get to see him live!

Special thanks to Cindy da Silva and Jackie Bobinski from The Rocks Management for all their assistance. And as always, eternal gratitudes go to Matthew of M.A.R.Studio for always going the extra mile with the printing!

ā˜… 23.4ā€ x 16.5ā€ (A2)
ā˜… 2 Colour Silkscreen print on 270gsm Maya Intensive Pink stock.
ā˜… Signed and numbered edition of x50.
ā˜… Available to buy directly at the show, any remaining copies will eventually be available to purchase online.

ā€œI like symmetry and geometric shapesā€

Still pinching myself that this actually happened, and still coming down from the high of his tremendous, joyous performance last Friday! An absolute dream come true to design a limited edition concert print for one of my musical heroes, David Byrne, for his two night Glasgow run at the SEC Armadillo! Even more overwhelming was the response to the print, with the x200 prints being snapped up before the show even began!

Very special thanks go out to two Matthews, without which, none of this would have happened! - First of all, Matthew at Red Star Merch for handing me the high point of my design career by kindly asking me to design the print; and secondly, screenprinter maestro Matthew Rich for his infinite patience and dedication (as always) in helping me make the prints as good as they could possibly be, as well as driving me to the Armadillo to@drop them off! Not forgetting also Allyson of Red Star Merch too, for liaising with us at the venue and very kindly organising for David to sign a print for me! (which shall be getting swiftly framed!) My eternal gratitude to you all!

And of course, I have to give a giant, suit-shaped thank you to David himself. What an honour to get to be a little part of your universe. šŸ™

(Disclaimer - to clear up any confusion, as people asked - My name written upon the Armadillo in the last image was written by David when he signed my personal print, and is *not* my artist signature! šŸ˜‚)

I am also now selling x50 Limited Edition, screenprints of the design in an alternative blue colourway, over at my bandcamp webshop. If you’d like one, you will have to move fast however, as they are shifting quickly! https://moonshakedesign.bandcamp.com/

Legendary man of letters (and song, and radio, and pies, and rude jokes with the word ā€œcuntā€ in.) Mr Ian Marchant, hath departed our material plain.
I will be posting more words in good time, but for now, please read this wonderful tribute from Railway enthusiast and YouTuber, Geoff Marshall. The comment section is something very special too.

Last Sunday marked the launch event for Ian Marchant’s third novel, his first in nearly 25 years - ā€˜The Breaking Wave’. It is a story about ā€œsex, drugs, village halls, love, death, dogs, breathing exercises, the 2024 Oscar ceremony, free jazz, thrash pop, Desert Island Discs, a detective mystery, a recreation of the 2007 Sheep Music car-parking fiasco, eighties flashbacks and a hall full of loonies going ape to ā€˜There’s a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He’s Elvis.’ ā€œ

Ian kindly invited me to once again create the cover art for the book, which of course I was more than happy to do, with his art direction, of course.

I have also produced limited edition screen-prints featuring the cover art, which are now available to buy on my webshop! (A4, Heritage Rag 300gsm)
https://moonshakedesign.bandcamp.com/merch/the-breaking-wave-300gsm-a4-screen-print

And the book, of course, is available to order from a special online webshop. Be sure to grab a copy soon though, as this is a very limited edition (run of 250) first edition hardback, and it will sell out fast!

And finally… if you are interested in the writing process of a novel, be sure to follow Ian’s Substack account which documents his creation of the book!

Special shoutouts go out to Matthew Rich for applying his attentive and careful master skills to the screenprinting, Hilary Marchant for helping get the book artwork to print, and Steve and Susie for very kindly hosting me in Presteigne for the book launch at the Assembly Halls!

Absolutely essential listening from the BBC World Service.
This is an interview from 2017 with Ben Ferencz, the last surviving Nuremberg prosecutor, who has died at the remarkable age of 103.
Some especially vital words towards the end about Ideology, our future, our very survival.

In light of Sean Lock's untimely passing, I implore you all to watch his wonderful (2002) sitcom 15 Storeys High with IMMEDIATE effect. (Though perhaps track down a DVD of it, the quality of the versions on Youtube are p**s poor...)
Artfully shot, set within a perfectly formed, slighltly absurdist South London universe; it is perhaps the funniest yet most criminally unknown sitcom EVER MADE. (no, honest, it really is.)
A true hidden gem. šŸ’Ž

English subtitles added. If there was an award for the most underrated TV comedy of recent years, 15 Storeys High would be a strong contender. Sorry about t...
