Gunnie got it's kitchen 80% done this weekend. Photos showing what it looked like when we bought it, then once we'd removed it. We lived for a week with 0 kitchen which was bloody hard work but thankfully we had friends and family to eat at and did lots of cafes for breakfasts :)

We need the fridge to arrive, and the doors for the unit along with missing shelves that I need to contact IKEA again for! (Ironically I used to do customer services for IKEA)

We've got the tap to put in yet and some stick on tiles to make a back splash (hopefully today's job) then it's just a case of working out where things live and acclimatising to cooking and functioning with a much smaller kitchen.

Luke also got some shelves in the wardrobe which are much better and fit much more snuggly.

Jobs to come are the bathroom, it needs a reconfigure but we have a plan for that, adding a storage stool that's the same height as the sofa, one of the seats will become a fold away seat to maximise seating space when we're not driving. The other passenger seat to be changed for a swivel seat so Luke can game if he fancies it. Hopefully some clever storage for the trunk area and lots more little bits too ❤️

We are Amber, Luke and Wyatt. (Most of the posts will be from amber)

For years now me and Luke have talked tiny homes/container homes/car camping/van life living.
In august 2025 we considered converting out vauxhall vivaro but decided that wouldn't be big enough to live in, especially with a toddler and at the time a rottweiler.

After many conversations of "if we don't do it now we won't do it until Wyatt is grown" and we didn't want to wait that long

We put the house up for sale, accepted an offer in November 2025, and finally completed on the 5th June 2026.

Months of downsizing donating and selling out belongings, a bathroom leak causing the kitchen to need full new flooring ceiling oven etc in the last week of the sale (yes one week before completion we came home from holiday to a flooded kitchen ceiling on the floor, you couldn't write it!!)

We have belongings in storage at the in laws and in the van too!
