Retha Buitendach creates fragile and surprising artworks from lost & found objects. Fantasy insects made up of thorns, sticks, pods, shells, and even recycled computer parts, each receive a pseudo-scientific name in Latin. Come and discover the literate Moth and the regal Muscarius regalis otherwise known as the King’s gambit Cranefly which displays a body made from an old wooden chess piece.

Kaleidoscopic digital artworks invite you to look with new eyes at the exquisite details in landscapes, plants, rocks, sand, and water. One can get lost in these self-contained worlds, where something new comes into focus, with every glance.

I Spy with my Kaleidoscope-eye is an exhibition that takes the viewer on a journey where even mundane objects turns out to be treasures.
