Here's a closer look at our new mark making stencils going on our website later this morning.

6 different mark making stencils ideal to use at home or in the classrooms.

Trace over with a finger, use with a sensory base or grab some tweezers and pompoms for fine motor skills.

Sand, one of the best sensory bases out there! In my opinion anyway.

We love the feel of it in our house, slipping through our hands, filling up every container with it, brushing it with paintbrushes and hiding things in it.

So this was the perfect quick setup for after Jessie's first full day at school.

Can you spot our new mark making stencils too? A custom from a rep that i couldn't not make for the shop and us too!

Matching letter eggs making a feature too, just a few of the first phase 1 sounds to begin with.

Hello September! 🍂

Well, I'm not quite sure how it's happened, but it's the 1st September!?

It will be Christmas before we know it! 😬

Bringing in the first of the month with a simple autumnal sensory play.

All the colours of Autumn fill me with joy, and this sensory base from really captures it well. You can get this base as part of our Autumn fairy kit, so go check it out.

Bringing in the last bit of summer this week with a beach play.

Jessie enjoyed colouring our wooden beach pieces this morning so spontaneously together, we created a beach scene for her to play with.

Casey loves sharks so to spread the love to Jessie i set this up for them today.

This pack from is great and Jess loved matching the sharks to the cards.

Lots of learning opportunities with letter sounds, writing on the chalkboard and reading for Casey.
And creative play with the sensory rice and pirate peg doll. I'm sure the wooden shark will attack at some point!

This will stay out now so they can come back to it each day.

I love how our wooden items work so well with resources, it's so easy to team them together and come up with a quick and easy activity with lots of learning!

Our counting flower tray is the perfect sunflower 🌻 and these sunflower number cards are an ideal match. Team it with our plant pot tray for some early mark making and you're all set!

We went treasure hunting yesterday saving the mermaid treasure from our new pirate peg!

First Jessie found all the treasure hidden under the sand and sea and then we set about counting each one into our tens frame and writing the number on our map board.

We used our number coins to help Jessie recognise what each number looked like so she could practise.

This was a great activity for getting her school ready for September.

After she just had fun hiding the treasure, making sandcastles and playing with the naughty pirate!
