Pop along and give it a try!

Pop into the Kendal People’s Café today (Thursday) 12pm–1:30pm, and enjoy coffee, cake, or a hot meal, and take home a basket of surplus groceries from our Community Food Larder for a suggested £5 donation.

Every visit helps us continue our pay‑as‑you‑can, food waste‑reducing community work!

We are not all about clothes you know…

Has been a busy summer and not as many updates as we would have liked.

But do you have school kids?

And would you like to get involved with other communities beyond the clothing and swapping communities built here?

Look at the kids cookalongs!

Having been to a general cookalong designed for adults we can vouch that the food made and the people met were excellent!

Have a look at Waste Into Wellbeing.

The organisation are a food waste charity that helps also reduce the amount going into landfil (just as clothes swaps aim to do too!) but they revolve around:

* A community larder
* A Peoples cafe
* Volunteering experiences
* Talks, workshops and cookalongs
* Fundraisers
* Community to hold it all together…

Our next After-School Kids Cookalong is on Monday 21st September. We'll be learning to make delicious Tuna Fishcakes, veg sticks, and a scrumptious lemony yoghurt dip (vegetarian options available).

Let your little chef take the lead, learn a child-friendly recipe, and enjoy your meal together with the group!

What do you have in your local area with regard to Father Christmas and gifting….?

Excuse the festive post (it's still August!) 🙈 BUT...

We want to know which meet santa (and Mrs Claus if you're lucky) experiences are?!

Ones where they don't give out gifts of plastic tat...but opt for sustainable gifts or books.
