Moustaches and thick-rimmed glasses. A dependable combination.

Structure up top. Character underneath.

Like good denim or proper leather boots, some things just seem to improve each other by association.

My first car. Bought with savings from my part time dishwashing job. Every time I drove it, people smiled. Waved. Pointed it out to their kids.

There was something deeply charming about my old Mini.

The sound. The gears. The smell. The way you could feel every inch of the road beneath you. The way you could SEE the road beneath you through the hole in floor (which I eventually patched-up).

Modern things don’t feel like that anymore. Everything’s hidden behind glass screens and sealed interfaces. Smooth. Efficient. But totally forgettable.

Call us old fashioned, but that’s why Lucy and I make glasses the ‘slow’ way.

Solid metal rivets, fastened by hand.

Frames polished for days in wooden chips.

Hours spent shaping and refining tiny details most people will never consciously notice… but somehow still feel.

More effort. More time. But infinitely more soul.

A bold, extra large sunglasses frame with generously sized lenses and an extra wide bridge, the Mòr Alder delivers a strong, vintage-inspired presence. Its expansive proportions bring confident structure and balance, making it a natural choice if you favour a larger frame. In Midnight Havana, the dark speckled acetate reveals subtle flecks of crimson, amber and whisky, adding depth and quiet warmth in sunlight. A powerful pair of sunglasses, packed with vintage charm.

Fresh acetate sheets. Awaiting deployment. 👉️ Layer upon layer of colour, pressed and cured into solid blocks. Right now they’re just quiet stacks of material.

Soon they’ll become the front of a frame. The curve of a bridge. The edge that catches the light when you turn your head.

Every pair starts right here in our Glasgow workshop.

Somehow, you just know when something feels special. ✨️ Hard to explain. Easy to recognise.

All the little details singing together. An angle here. A gentle curve there. The weight. The balance. The way the light rolls across the surface.

That quiet ooh moment when you pick them up.

That’s the difference between mass-market eyewear and the sunglasses you see here. A hundred small human touches. Decisions made by eye, by hand, by feel.

There’s no easy way to scale that. Which is exactly why the big brands don’t do it.

Thanks for looking.

Since the start of the year, Lucy and I have been quietly developing a new range of chunky frames.

After months of toiling, tweaking and testing, next Wednesday we’re releasing 14 new editions.

6 entirely new frame models.
8 new colourways added to existing favourites.

True to the Gaelic meaning of Mòr (very big 🏔️ ), this is the boldest update we’ve ever made. Wider fits, bigger lenses, more presence on the face. Frames for those who’ve always felt a little under-served by standard sizing.

If you like a large fit, this is one to pay attention to.

The full collection is now live to preview on our website ahead of next week’s launch.

It’s been a long road getting these right… but we think you’ll feel it the moment you put them on.

Thanks for looking.

Walking into the living room of our flat once night, I hear an oddly familiar 'whining' engine noise. There's a lot of nice cars in Glasgow, but this one sounds different. 🤔 I twitch the curtain open and shout to Lucy "I knew it." An old Mini Cooper. The Mr.Bean kind that brings a smile to your face. I used to own one myself, so I'd recognise that engine sound anywhere. There's something so endearing about those old fashioned bumpers, headlights and external hinges. Looking outside the window, I thought of my old Mini and how those traditional details made it such a joy to drive and be seen in. People would smile, wave and tell their children "look". I felt proud driving that car, maintaining it and learning to love it's old fashioned quirks. Those construction methods made it special. Just like the rivets that fasten the hinges to our glasses. Rare old-school charm. Nostalgic even.
