Postcards from MOTHER 💃

We took it all down on Monday, and my body immediately went into shutdown 🫠 it ain’t for the faint hearted!

Huge shout out to our gorgeous crew who inject joy and much needed motivation into everything we do. Wouldn’t survive without you both.

To , the woman who challenges me and pushes me to make it happen, no matter how mad the idea. You’re my biggest nuisance and my biggest inspiration. Thanks for envisioning a community of artists that don’t have to sacrifice being silly to be at the top of their game. We can do it all and we’ll make daft reels while we do it 🫶🏻

Here’s to the next 🥂

New Boyes store my divas!! You best believe we were there ready for opening time, as loyal Boyes girlies x

During the countdown to cutting the ribbon Lucy goes ‘listen I don’t get embarrassed easily but…’ 🌝

Oh and I met the chairman, but that deserves a reel of its own x

Proud to say that from tomorrow, you can see lace that I have produced on display as part of the exhibition in Hull❤️‍🔥

I’ve been taught by the super talented alongside my friend and fellow Feminine Urger - our Monday nights have been spent getting to know this brilliantly complex craft. Our patience has been tested, brain cells lost, but our progress has been undeniable and it’s been so rewarding.

THANK YOU for investing in me and awarding me the time to develop this into my practice.

Thanks as well to our local lacemaking community , who have welcomed me so warmly into their experienced group, and who we’ll learn so much from.
As much as I advocate that craft skills are more accessible than ever thanks to online tutorials and YouTube, nothing beats the connections, stories and talent you can glean from learning from others face to face.

If you go and see my work in the show, let me know! More lace will also be exhibited later this month as part of the .hull exhibition at - can’t stop me now 🥳

Spring things 🌷

Been busy getting things ready for MOTHER exhibition which opens 1st May, along with all my usual nonsense. Excited for more working in the garden and getting distracted by visiting bees 🐝

My favourite place, centre of my universe; Boyes ❤️‍🔥

Time to start deep diving into the underrated haberdashery provider of the north. Last summer/early autumn I started filming little reviews of local branches of Boyes, so it’s time to start actually posting them all and spreading the good word.

Starting strong with Boyes Hessle Road (Hull) which I always say is the one with the best haberdashery out of the 4 Boyes we’ve got in Hull! We’ll see how the others stack up in future vids 👀

Love you 🫶🏻

Crochet is just that girl 💅

Anyone who knows me knows I’m an avid knitter too, but crochet feels like knittings cool younger sister who’s a bit more of a go with the flow kinda gal.

What’s your fav thing to crochet??
Honestly I don’t know what mine is! I want to say clothing but I loveeee being able to whip something up in crochet when you just need something specific, it’s so versatile that way. So I guess my answer is everything 🤪

If you’re local to Hull have a look on my website for my upcoming learn to crochet class! Dm me if you’ve got questions 😘

I’m telling myself that if it’s still January then I’m still allowed to post this🤫

Had a lovely year of projects, workshops and general fun stuff last year! Got a bit manic towards the end but it’s nice to be challenged I suppose 🤪
Special mentions to for all our exhibition shenanigans, more to come in 2026!

Lots to look forward to this year including work on the local Barrow Tapestry - a heritage embroidery project in which I am designing the panels that tell the story of the village, super exciting stuff there.
Also working on more workshops, travelling further afield, learning a brand new skill in bobbin lacemaking, and no doubt more and more fun things as the year pans out.

Can’t wait to see what happens🫶🏻

It’s time for part 2!!

I put the tiny sewing machine through its paces with a project - the start of a patchwork tree skirt with leftover squares from my Christmas workshops.
It did alright!! I’m not sure how it would fare on anything that puts stress on seams, clothes etc but for this it seems absolutely fine.

It’s got its quirks like the way the bobbin refills, but all in all I’d say it’s 16.99 well spent 😘

You can make a vision board whenever you like!! You haven’t missed your opportunity just because it’s not the 1st of January anymore!!

You can even make one halfway through the year if you want! Who’s going to stop you! Not me 🫶🏻

Genuinely though, they’re so much fun to put together, and a nice little reminder to look at throughout the year.

My local craft queens can come along to the vision board workshop I’m hosting on blue Monday next week! Details on my website x
