Hey Everyone,
Shama here from Doll & Bone. I just wanted to share a big update with you all. After a long five years with many ups and downs, tears and laughter, it is with great regret we have to inform everyone that Doll & Bone is closing down.

After persevering throughout Covid and the lockdowns, and the impact this had on us throughout every aspect of the business – as well as the current cost-of-living crisis that’s impacting so many small businesses - it’s become apparent to us all that the time has come to bring the company to an end.

I took over Doll & Bone in 2018 (after it was first established in 2015 by the previous owners Will and Lauren.) When I did, I combined it with my already established Shamallama Arts company, to make the Doll & Bone that exists today.

Through this time, I’ve completed my BSc, MSc and have now started a PhD. I also work full time employment as a physics technician and a scientific adviser for the Midlands based community Arts group Insecta Collective. So, I have been VERY busy.

Now I have started my PhD, I no longer have the time and capacity to run Doll & Bone with the attention it needs or deserves.
It’s been an amazing ride and I’ve met so many lovely people, raised money for several charities and learnt so many new skills which I will gratefully take with me onto new adventures.

I still enjoy making and designing and this is why I will be still using Etsy to sell existing stock as its important to have a hobby, I just can’t run the hobby as an established business any longer. It is such a shame that I couldn’t make Doll & Bone what I had envisioned but I’ll never regret these past five years.

In the meantime, I’ll be running a huge sale on the website www.dollandbone.com until I can shift a lot of the old stock. And the website will then close permanently on 21st May.
After the date of closure, you’ll be able to find us on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DollandBoneUK - but we won’t be at the capacity we are at now.

If you would like to show some support, help us one last time by sharing the sale among friends and family, give us a share and wish us luck for the future.

Thank you to all of those who have liked, shared, bought, promoted us over these past five years and bigger thank you to all those that have worked with us. A lot of my friends committed their free time to doll and bone and I will forever be grateful and indebted to you.
