Having a new baby can be a life changing event not just for the parents, but for any other children in the family as well.

When a new baby joins the family there is often an adjustment period for older children.

Some things you can do to try to help make this period of adjustment easier includes:

⭐️Work on acknowledging your older child’s feelings.
⁣⁣
⭐️Recognize when your child shows patience or empathy and praise them.

⭐️Cuddle your new baby and your older child together. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⭐️Understand that regression may occur and is normal. Try to be patient and understanding. ⁣⁣
⭐️Try to maintain old routines as best as you can.

⭐️Work on creating time to give your older child your undivided attention for a 10-20 minutes a day.

⭐️Provide your child opportunities to be a helper and help you with the baby.

👇🏼Have you added a baby to the family? Do you have any tips to share?

This cute bag would be a good hospital bag or travel bag for mom and baby.

Mom and baby can store all the items they need in this bag while on the go.

It has a cute design that will make every mom feel good about carrying it.

Also perfect as a gift for a soon-to-be mum....

It can be hard for our partners to feel involved, or know how to support us when we are doing all the physical hard work of growing a baby!
But, our partners are actually the biggest and most important part of our village. They’re in this with us and have such an important job of caring for us and advocating for us through each step of this journey (and beyond!).

So, what are some ways our partners can get involved? If you’re currently pregnant and partnered, this is a great post to SHARE with your significant other to help guide them on ways to support you and baby:

✔️ Help choose the right provider
👩‍🏫 Take a birth class together
📷 Document the journey - lots of pics!
🗣️ Talk to the bump - baby can get used to their voice too.
🤰 Feel baby kick and move
👶 Help set up the nursery and baby items
🤪 Hold space for your emotions - it’s a roller coaster!
🍽️ Cook nutritious meals (and indulge your cravings)
📅 Make a plan for parental leave
⏲️ Attend antenatal appointments
📝 Work on your birth plan together (this allows them to better advocate your needs!)
👀 Track baby’s development (loads of great apps for this)
❄️ Fill the freezer with meals for postpartum

What else would you add to this list? Did your partner do anything that you found particularly helpful?

Make sure you tag your partner (or a fellow pregnant mama) in the comments below! 👇

We all get excited when our babies start doing something new. Whether its smiling, laughing, sitting, crawling, walking or even cutting teeth. Theres nothing wrong with being proud when it happens. Sometimes our babies do things earlier than average and we want to show others. This is fine too!
Whats not so fine is using our own children as the gold standard and worrying other parents about theirs. I see it lots. On my posts and others around the internet. I deleted a comment in which someone attacked a parent for being 'lazy' because her 9 month old baby hadnt started crawling yet. Some babies dont crawl! They going straight from sitting to walking.

Babies are all different and there are vast variations in 'normal' scales when it comes to developmental milestones. My twins were a classic case. One started walking at 9 months, the other 13 months. One cut teeth at 7 months, the other one didnt get a tooth until he was well over a year old! One started talking months before the other and Guess what? They can both run around and talk as much as any other teen.

Lets stop the baby comparisons and if you really do have worries about your baby/childs development, speak with your health visitor/doctor. Don't listen to people on the internet 😊
