Those pesky seagulls have been stitched into aprons, cushions, tea-towels, peg bags and one oil cloth bag.
On their way to The Craft Kiln in Charlestown, Cornwall.
I am sure they will fly!

Finally received my order of this fabric, I love the sound of gulls at the beach, but not on the house roof waking me up at 4 o’clock in the morning. We all have memories of gulls pinching chips, pasties and ice cream. I think they missed all the visitors earlier in the year! Now what shall I make?

Sorry not to have posted anything for a while, we have successfully moved home!
Not unpacked everything yet, but the temporary sewing room is up and functioning, Found this lovely fabric that I enjoyed making cushions with. Reminds me of our lovely Cornish villages, with the sound of seagulls.

With walking being done , and it warming up ( a bit!) it’s important to keep hydrated. So I have been perfecting a design for water carriers. Think I will be making ones with shorter straps as well so children can carry their own drinks . They are insulated and quite roomy, might add a small pocket for keys or card?

Found this fabric today in my cupboard, I love the colours, reminds me of eating fish and chips by the sea watching the fishing boats come in to Mevagissey.

During these times I have been making a few clothes instead of items for our shop in Charlestown. Glad to have grandchildren to keep me busy sewing. It’s been a nice change, can’t wait to see them wearing the items.

Being able to go to the beach and enjoy the sea during the last few days is a great privilege in Cornwall. My new beach finds are clean and drying, love the single piece, and beginning to think about the size and shape it will become. My boats make great Father’s Day gifts. I have a few in my Etsy shop, will be adding some more soon. Take care ,keep safe.

Today was a really special day for as I have just posted our first Etsy sales. Both customers bought one of my Peg Bags.

They are fully lined and I have hand stitched around the opening with bright threads. The chicken peg bags are now live on the Etsy shop.

I love to walk on our Cornish beaches and I get very excited when I find a piece of driftwood that I can make a boat out of.

The wood has been washed and dried in the oven to sanitise and kill everything.

All my boats are unique and designed with the shape and colour of the wood in mind.
