Think I need to take a social media break for my own sanity.

No I’m not joking 🙃

Everyone wants their posts to be popular on here, me included, but the levels of s**t 💩 you receive on posts is unprecedented.

I’m not perfect and I will never get everything right or make everyone happy but I’m trying my best to make the fashion industry a better, fairer place.

At times it feels like there’s no escape and I need to give myself a bit of a break for my own mental wellbeing.

Is it a Ripoff?

What do you consider when buying clothing?

Is a T-Shirt simply a T-Shirt?

Many people see it this way yet very few argue that a Tesla should cost the same as a Kia because they are both cars 🚗.

Unfortunately we’ve come to a point where the prices that we charge which are actually wholesale prices are not working.

We cannot continue to sell directly to consumers at wholesale prices even if some people believe those prices are too high for retail.

We’ve never tried to compete with fast fashion on price however we have tried to make our clothes as affordable as possible.

A lack of knowledge and education often leads us to interpret and come to our own conclusions based on what we think rather than what we know.

We’ve been working on costs for a new hoodie and trying desperately to get the costs below £30.

Even at £30 it puts wholesale at £60 and retail at £150 which puts us in line with our competitors. We currently sell for £80 which people often tell us is disgusting 🤢.

The reality is that producing clothing ethically is expensive and using 100% Recycled Cotton is very expensive.

Unfortunately many people continue to just see cotton.

Fashion Child Labour. A problem Ignored…

It’s very easy to turn a blind eye to things happening overseas. We’ve got our own problems that are very real.

We can’t be expected to take on the burden of everything that happens around the world and if we did we would be very miserable.

That being said if a clothing brand the you buy and wear is exposed using child labour this is more than just news. You are part of it.

It’s often overlooked as a small inconvenience but these are children being forced to make your clothes.

Imagine if it was your child 🧒

And yet you buy them.

Is this really Girl Power?

Even If We Never Sell Another Sweatshirt

I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved.

Creating clothing from 100% Recycled Cotton when everyone told us it was impossible and couldn’t be done.

Sure, it’s very expensive but pioneering material science is never cheap. I don’t know what the future holds but we’ve proved it can be done.

Whether or not it can become commercially successful remains to be seen.

You really should check the labels 🏷️

Organic Cotton blend, Recycled Cotton blend, Bamboo blend, Made with Organic Cotton, Made with Recycled Cotton, made with bamboo, recycled materials, made with recycled materials, made with natural fibres, contains natural fibres and many more.

It’s just hiding the polyester, Acrylic, Polyamide or other plastic material.

Why does everything good end up misused?

Shopping secondhand was supposed to be the solution to fast fashion. The trouble is many people are buying used clothing in the same way.

Not only that but secondhand clothing is often bought alongside fast fashion. Supplementing rather than replacing it.

Turns out there are even people buying fast fashion, wearing it once then selling it to fund yet more fast fashion.
