Set late at night on the Tube, this window is our experience of the present — our dreaming big and finding fantasy within repetitive everyday routine 💭

The Home
This window for us was all about our childhoods, when we could dream big and dream limitlessly, and it felt as if time didn’t exist. In this world, these guys can even draw on wallpaper without getting told off 🥹

Probably the prop-heaviest window full of personal Easter eggs — mum’s Gus mug, custard cremes, books from our formative years, a PlayStation (inspired) magazine (along with my actual PS1/2/3 games collection).

All the frames in the window, illustrated by Sookyung Kim, are nods to important family moments, other window scenes or new season storylines. The Arsenal parade features, of course! And we even got a dino Muhammad Ali in there (my grandparents have three (!!!) identical framed pictures of him on the family photo wall 😅).

Put plenty detail pictures in the carousel, but do go have a look at the windows at Selfridges. Super proud of this body of work!!

Our 5th free workshop is complete !! And our hearts are full. 🫂💕

Honestly such an amazing weekend meeting up with new and old friends 🥺 What made it extra special too was that some people came alone, and some with friends and family but everyone joined in to create together. Maybe 100 of the lil fellas were made over the two days from guests’ old tops and swapped scraps 👽😮 The slots were fully booked in a just a few hours this time which is crazy!!

MASSIVE thank you to everybody that came through!! Best one yet and more to come for sure 🌟💫

Slowly cleaning but the remaining samples will be listed to our site soon too💕💕

‘HOME’ - YAKU England shirt concept 1

Growing up, my dad made sure to let me know I’m not English and that this place wasn’t ours. That wasn’t exactly the England that surrounded me but it certainly was the one he grew up in not long before I did. Physical violence, unvoiced judgment, lack of opportunities, all of that. Was even worse for my grandparents - I found out recently my grandad arrived here as a trained accountant and was told that wasn’t possible when they realised the colour of his skin. Disheartened, he changed profession. Yet even after re-training as an engineer he was restricted in how much he could grow in the field.

All this to say, I understand where my dad was coming from, but in 2018 my friend Jordan forced me into the pub to watch the Euros and it changed my mindset. That time felt real hopeful and like we were moving forward. There was unison in the air. Right now, it seems in day to day life, we’ve taken so many steps back.

Our World Cup squad is a true reflection of the country we live in. For whatever reason, so many different stories have ended up on this small piece of land that we call home. 16 (!!!) different origins all on the same team. Including St.Vincent and the Grenadines, where that same grandad I told you about traveled from in the 60s. So we integrated all their flags into the print.

Despite growing up in households so different from one another, it’s clearly possible to unite towards a common goal. Maybe that’s what being British is about?
