What does it take to lead when the stakes are high and the future is uncertain?

In this Shackleton Briefing, co-founder Ian Holdcroft () introduces our landmark partnership with : the FT Shackleton Leadership Expedition.

Taking place in Norway’s Hardangervidda National Park in April 2027, this five-day programme combines polar expeditioning with world-class scenario planning to help senior leaders and C-suite executives build resilience, sharpen decision-making and lead through uncertainty.

Ian also introduces the limited-edition Shackleton x Financial Times Bracken Gilet. New today and named after Brendan Bracken, founder of modern financial journalism, it combines 800-fill-power goose down, durable 100% recycled mini-ripstop fabric and considered, understated detailing.

From the boardroom to the polar wilderness, the mission is the same: prepare for uncertainty, build resilience and discover what you’re made of.

Explorer and Product Strategist, Charlie Smith introduces the Knox, Shackleton’s Swiss Army knife jacket and the toughest design brief we’ve undertaken so far.

On jacket rarely delivers both warmth and weather protection, so the Knox pairs mapped down and synthetic insulation with lessons from our most extreme outerwear, the Markham and the Quest. The name nods to the Knox Coast in Western Antarctica, and to Fort Knox, because very little gets past it.

In our latest briefing, Charlie points out the details that set it apart: a magnetic front closure finished with a stylised version of our logo, three waterproof zipped pockets across the chest and front, and a three-way adjustable hood that detaches completely when you’d rather have a cleaner line. Sharp, light and easy to pack, it’s built to keep you warm and dry whatever the day throws at it.

Last night at our Piccadilly HQ, we were joined by .geiger, CEO of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (), for an evening exploring Shackleton’s final voyage.

In 2024, John led the international team that found the wreck of Quest, Shackleton’s last ship, off the coast of Labrador. This summer, the Heroic Age Expedition returned to the site for the gripping, first close-up look at the wreck by submersible.

Drawing on his new book, QUEST: Shackleton’s Last Ship & the End of the Heroic Age, John took us from the early polar expeditions and the Endurance, through Shackleton’s death aboard Quest in 1922, to the remarkable afterlife of the ship itself.

Thank you to John and to everyone who joined us.

BUILT FOR MORE // Keegan Hargreaves

Keegan Hargreaves is co-founder of USVE (usve), a London adventure community built on the belief that no one should have to explore alone. He has spent the last two years leading people outdoors who might never have taken that first step without him.

He brought that same belief to Lofoten, Norway on this trip, proof that BUILT FOR MORE is measured not only in performance, but also people.

Explorer and Product Strategist Charlie Smith introduces the all-new Franklin and Fremantle, using an elevated wool blend combining warmth and durability, for Shackleton’s first take on a fleece jacket and gilet.

Discover our 63% recycled wool blend that allows body temperature regulation and natural odour resistance, alongside an Extrafine Merino lining at the collar and hem for a soft-touch feel that’s warm without the weight. Franklin takes that wool blend and builds it into a full fleece, while Fremantle strips it back to a gilet, same warmth, effortless layering.

At our London store in Piccadilly, Charlie shows the small details that make the difference: zipped side pockets built for easy access, and a ribbed hem that cinches close to keep drafts out. Two takes on the same idea. Proof that fashion can be functional.

Explorer and Product Designer Charlie Smith, introduces the Ross, the Rothera and the Ronne insulated jackets: three of our most iconic down jackets, refined every year and tested to deliver serious warmth without sacrificing versatility.

In our latest Shackleton Briefing at our London Piccadilly Store, Charlie breaks down the design details and technical features. All three jackets use heat-mapped baffle construction filled with 850 fill power goose down. 6cm baffles down the front lock in warmth while 3cm baffles underneath the arms let heat escape the moment you start sweating.

There’s also an internal security pocket, YKK zips and a built-in stuff sack for easy packing. The result is a jacket engineered for every day wear and proven to handle the world’s extremes; Antarctica, Iceland, Greenland and Everest.

BUILT FOR MORE // NORTHERN NORWAY

Some landscapes remind us that exploration is an instinct.

To us, Northern Norway is one of them. Around Kabelvåg and Svolvær, roads cut between mountain and sea, harbours are exposed beneath ridgelines, and the weather can change the character of a day in minutes.

We travelled north because this landscape speaks the same language as Autumn Winter ’26. Deep navy, stone grey and earthy peat echo the sea, rock and ground. Forest green, brick, signal yellow and icy blue appear in the changing light and painted buildings of the coast. Across mountain, shoreline and village, the collection could move through the environments it was designed for - capable in exposure, versatile everywhere the journey leads.

To us, exploration begins with the decision to move beyond the familiar and discover what comes next. Autumn Winter ’26 is built for that instinct.
