When we first started FRAME CHAIN people thought we were mad - sneering and laughing that glasses chains are for grandmas. But thanks to you, all of our incredibly smart and stylish customers we proved them wrong. We have seen big brands adopt our thinking, some of them directly copying, the word FRAMECHAIN (TM) is now used as a term for glasses chain - we are incredibly proud and humbled by everything that we have learnt, every mistake, every success and every pair of glasses we stopped you losing or misplacing.
We can't continue to compete with the bigger companies - be they luxury or high street. We don't want to compromise on quality, design or service, but without scale and an incredible amount of investment, this is no longer something we can sustain. We also have other full-time jobs and companies to run - FRAME CHAIN was an epic side hustle that we never expected to scale. We didn't do a business plan; we learnt as we went, and before COVID, we couldn't quite believe what a gem we had created. It has not been easy to stay open post-COVID - we have done what we can, and it is still a beautiful business, but we know it's time to walk away.
